Saw this interesting story today.  I wonder if this is going to happen to more villages in Spain as the younger generations move out....

Buy an abandoned village in Spain for 189,000 Euros

Justin

Only 40% of the village is available Justin.  Some owners won't sell.

Let´s all pool our resources and buy it. We could offer Gordon Brown a free holiday home thus ensuring it has a regular idiot about the place.

Gordon Brown as village idiot Mmmm, has possibilities -- but might be a bit Taxing for other residents.

I don't think you need to worry about GB having a holiday home. By the time he is finished the GBP will be parity with the euro and he will be long gone, enjoying a gravy train number with the EU and doing a few after dinner speaches to pay for the odd second home or 3. Oh and don't forget his gilt edged pension which will keep him ahead, while we drown in inflation.
