Receiving proceeds of a sale

Could anyone advise me how best to receive the proceeds of my sale ? I am about to complete but my solicitor hasn't been very clear as to how he will pay me , there was mention of a bankers draft, but I wondered if a transfer can be made into my U.K. bank account ? 

Short while ago I sold one house and my solicitor paid the money into my Spanish bank, I then went into the Spanish  bank and explained what had happened and I wont be transfering the money until I liked the exchange rate of the day, the Lady bank manager was more then helpfull and told me maybe call in every day after 11am to see what the days exchange rate would be on the house sale amount, if happy she would exchange it their and then to my UK bank, I did,  and she did when it was a good rate....Maybe this might help a little.
