Spain is a democratic sovereign country and therefore ruled by its own democratically elected government by the ballot box. As with all democratic elections, the majority vote will decide the will of its citizens. As with all democratic elections, there will be a minority who disagree with election results and refuse to respect the majority of their fellow citizens. This has been demonstrated with the US Trump defeat and the UK BREXIT referendum. Learning to lose is a life skill.

We're not talking about learning to lose here but compliance with existing law that affects all citizens in Spain regardless whether nationals or non nationals. To make it a divisive issue is mischievous and only detracts away from a serious subject matter relating to corruption, purposeful non compliance with civilised standards of behaviour that protects society as a whole. The law shouldn't discriminate against anyone as you imply Kavanagh and should be fairly administered to all who depend upon protection of their rights as defined in existing law.

But you and I and the rest of the foreign immigrants are not citizens of Spain, we are just privileged temporary guests, we are not Spanish nationals, we are foreign immigrants with foreign passports. We have no right to request or demand cultural change to a foreign democratic sovereign country. It is not up to us to dictate, advise or interfere with another country’s civilised standards of behaviour, that right belongs to Spanish nationals.

The rule of law makes no exceptions and applies to all citizens that's why it is revered across nation states.

The rule of law is enshrined in Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union as one of the common values for all Member States.
