I send my 10 year old daughter to Spanish state education primary school.until now, after 3 years, no complaints  top marks all the way. Now however I have an issue with one of her primary school teachers. This after I asked his wife recently to pick up the shit from her dog  in the park my daughter played in. After this all communication stopped. The marks from my daughters school report have taken a nose dive because of low marks in the subjects of this primary school teacher ( she is taught different subjects by different teachers). I find this quite sad as this grown man would use my daughters school results to send a message to her father. As far as I am aware there is absolutely nothing that I can do to put in a complaint against this teacher unless anyone knows anything different. Are there any bodies I can complain to or is it worth it? If anybody could let me know I would be gratefull.

Have you tried the head teacher and asked about the complaints procedure?

Hi Kavanagh the problem is that the head teacher is in a four year post and he was put there by the teachers so his main concern is to keep the teachers happy if he wants to remain in his post.

Yes dbd I knew it was a long shot but no one else were coming up with any ideas. No matter what bias the head teacher may have someone within the school must know the complaints procedure. So it’s either the head teacher, the governors, the local education authority or maybe the famous Spanish complaints form. Failing them, the police, the town mayor or the local Member of Parliament.  You could go to the police and denounce the teacher, his wife and maybe the dog. You have to start somewhere,

DBD

I had never thought about schools having complaints forms (Hojas de Reclamación) however, from a quick look on the internet it would appear they must have them.

So ask for the form and complete it.

Good luck

John
