News that police in Portugal raided an ex-pat bingo session in Portugal has to be big joke.

A country with the worst safety record on the roads in Europe  and in the grip of a reccession should have better things to do with police time.

The offenders who were playing for biscuits were locked up for a day.

Disgraceful....... and I wont Bingoing to that country in a hurry .

Whats the Law in Spain ?

Yeah i seen those ex-pat bingo sessions, no doubt choc full of wrinkles, they can cause more trouble then enough, especialy when the old bird on the next table gets a number that he should have had, all hell breaks out... sticks flying everywhere....zimmer frames bashing into shins.

And as for playing for biscuits...dont fall for that one, the arrow root biscuits are just  the front for the "Bigger" prizes, when they divi up the winnings all sorts of drugs come out in the open....2 biscuits one bottle of white horse oils...5 biscuits large bottle of deep heat... 10 biscuits family pack of mothballs....and the last one with the most biscuits gets the large bottle of viagra pills.

And dont walk past them when the club throws out..... them and electric carts are worse then a bull fight got loose.

Law is the same in spain. Any gambling, playing cards for money etc;, is illegal. Riads are fairly common .

The bar-owners got a hefty fine and a suspended sentence. Mind you I reckon the suspended sentence was for calling a pub in Portugal "The Yorkshire Tavern".
