My bank card has expired!  I have been living in Australia for the last 5 years but I'm home now and want to access my Euro account. The bank doesn't answer the telephone, letters, faxes and only one email. I know they have received at least one letter

requesting a new card as they have resumed using my UK address. Do I really have to fly to Spain to sort this out and is there anyone to complain to about the NON service of this bank?

It might help to know which bank you have the account in, the town/village in which it is or was, and whether you have e-banking. Please do not disclose any other details. There has been a great deal of contraction in Spanish banking, and not all customers were written to re closures. Subject to your reply I may be able to provide some info.

Keep trying oldgeezer, they'll pick up eventually ! :)  they don't like to pick up the phone in Spain especially in the Banks! Drives me mad. But remember not to phone between 10 and 10:45am they never pick up then .... out having their 'almuerzo!' :)

I was translating at a police station yesterday. The victim of a bank fraud had to call her bank to get some more details.  They said call back later and hung up.  I got the police officer taking the report to call. They spoke to him !!

They do seem to be rather cavalier. No response still. I fear I will have to fly to Spain!

I just called Caixa Manilva on 951 966 060 (8.35am) from Spain. They answered on the third ring.
