Advice on the Canary Islands please

Hello
We generally spend Christmas in Spain and would like to ensure sunshine this year. I know Vueling fly direct from Malaga to Grand Canaria, but don't know it at all, can anyone advise on areas to consider? We would prefer to be in a Spanish enclave rather than a massive tourist resort,

Hi,
I lived on Gran Canaria for 3 years. The place for you is Vecindario or if you want to be on the coast Arinaga . Both are mainly Spanish close to the airport and have plenty of life.
