Don't forget that when inputting numbers with decimal places in Spain you need to use a comma not a full stop.

Query on filling in the new online 210 form in the payment section what do I fill in in boxes 19 to 31?  my figures are as follows V Catastral is €74,000 by 1.1% =€814.00 by 24% tax + €195.36 so my tax to pay is €195.36

Thanks in advance

Nearly certain you can only fill it in online now hence my questions in my previous post.....

The modelo 210 for this year can only be completed online.  Details are sent electronically to the tax office which eliminates the need for the bank to send a paper copy when payment is made.

I googled the molelo 210 and printed it out.

I filled out the modelo 210 form the same as my solicter had done for last year

only changing the date on it, I then went done to Bankia and paid our monies ,

he stamped the forms and gave me back a copy of them.

Simple and it didnt cost me 150.00+ i v a that our soliciter has been getting from us for the last few years

just our 17.22  tax each.

HAPPY DAYS

Sandiemac

Trying without success to complete the online version of  Form 210. I've tried both the English and Spanish versions but can't get past the 'Validate & Generate PDF' without bringing up 'ERROR 0115'.  Also hadn't noticed that the information could be saved so have spent some time entering data.

Can anyone please help?

I understand that completing the online form automatically sends a copy to the tax office.  Can you, as  sandiemac says, just print out the form, manually complete it and take to a bank to pay?

Hi Crackers

You can do as sandiemac does it. We fill the form out online (because you need a few copies and the online version fills out the copies automatically) and print it as is to check that everything is correct. Do not shut down or close anything because you will lose what you did and have to start the whole process again to fix mistakes. Do not try and save it in any format as it will either cause an error or you will just get a blank document. If you want an electronic copy then scan in your printed copy.

We went to our local tax office and got the bar coded labels which last you a few tax forms. We attach the bar coded labels and go to our local Bankia ,where we have an account, the bank does exactly the same as with sandiemac, they even deduct the money straight from our account.

All you need to do is check that the valor castral (excuse the spelling) has not changed or the percentage calculation.

A little tip, when we went to our local tax office they of course could not speak or understand english. What did was, using google translate, we had the questions typed up in Spanish (with the english below for our benefit), we just pointed to the correct Spanish question and got our labels no problem.

Thanks neatrees

No problem with calculations as everything same as last year for me and still have plenty of bar code labels.

As I couldn't get past  'Validate & Generate PDF' without bringing up 'ERROR 0115' there was nothing for me to print.  However I have since used a more up to date computer which has been successful so all forms printed and ready to pay at bank.  Even managed to save it, retrieve and amend it  Maybe it was a software glitch on the older computer.

It's taken me hours to produce forms which show exact same figures as previous year ....... let's hope it saves the tax office time eh.

Thanks again for your help.

I really recommend using a spanish accountant rather than a lawyer for this. I use Andy Garcia of the company Angar Taxation service". They are excellent, do all the work for you - go to the office  pay the bill and obtain a receipt. Their fees are extremely reasonable .

I have used them for 5 years and it means I have no tax worries in Spain at all. I am not rsident for the whole of the year so this gives me great peace of mind. For most people it would not be worth the time and trouble to do your own returns unles you are very familiar with the system.

After filling it in a few times and getting errors I reread the instructions, which I had printed in english, filled it in again and no problem

Along with drsteve I would recommend using a local accountant.  I have been using Angar Taxation for several years as well and can confirm that they are excellent.  They are very patient with poeple who don't understand the system and make sure everything is paid up on time.  they also send very helpful reminders so that you don't get into arrears.

The form is very easy to fill in and the instructions and form are all in english. Our non resident tax liability is only 88€ so would object to paying someone else to do it for me. It did take a bit of perseverance to work it through but I do have the time and as it doesn't need to be paid till Dec 31st loads of time.

I agree with Marysafc.  If your tax situation is straight forward and up to date then it is very simple to complete the online form, print it off and pay at a bank and it's even easier now that the instructions are in English.

We used a solicitor for the first three years but when the Wealth Tax was temporarily abolished this was not reflected in the bill making their fee nearly as much as La Renta tax so it made sense to do it ourselves.

My only concern is that we have never had any communication/receips from the Tax Office.  We do have the bank receipts which is more that we got from our solicitor without chasing them.

I have always filled forms myself and brought them to the bank and paid, but couldnt figure online form.

Fingers crossed, as we are out end of October and want to make sure I have it sorted for our visit.

When you have filled in the online tax form and its accepted your details it'll produce a PDF version quite like the old tax form you filled out before and you bring a printed copy of the PDF version to the bank and pay.Did it last month its straight forward enough.

For reasons best known to themselves, we now have to have an NIF.  To get this you have to enter your NIE and name (surname first) at the top of the form and then click on the box opposite.  This will take you over another obstacle course.  I shall be complaining to the AEAT Defensor about all this.  The whole thing is not fit for purpose.  After 4 hours of trying, I am still getting Error 0115.  It is also refusing to recognise my new NIF.
