Car insurance in Spain

I own a Spanish home and own a Spanish car, the problem I have I pay 12 months insurance, but only use the car for 6 perhaps 9 weeks a year, is it possible to insure the car for 2 or 3 weeks at a time any advice would be very grateful. Many Thanks Motherfirth

Have you asked your insurance company? They may offer a limited use policy. Is the car secure and off the road when not in use?
Have you considered selling the car and looking at long term car hire options for when you are using your property? Don't know where you are, but I think Helle Hollis offer some scheme for home owners.

If you are only using your car for 6 to 9 weeks a year it is almost certainly not cost effective to keep it bearing in mind ITV test insurance suma tax and servicing and repairs. On a 1.25 Fiesta the break even is about 12 weeks a year if no major repairs.
