Put off by the credit crunch?

Hi there,

We were just wondering if there is anyone out there who has been put of f moving this year due to the credit crunch or are you still going?

Or have you had to return to the UK because of a lack of work?

These forums are great and we find  the up beat attitude on them to be so refreshing.  Have been looking on another web site and all it was, was doom and gloom.  Every post had the same four or five people reply saying don't come.

I would say come but if you arnt bringing any savings etc with you things might be tough as there are no jobs here.

There are telesales jobs but little else unless you want to work for yourself or set up your own business in which case you will need money saved till things take off.

I came over in 2001 and things are tougher now than back then but if you are willing to do anything to make a living you will prob survive.

I agree, if you don't do it now you may never will. Just be prepared for it to be much harder than you ever thought it would be.

Where are you looking to move to?  If you don´t speak spanish then obviously it will be harder to find work but there are typically english areas all over spain where you can find some sort of work.  My hubby and I have not found it a problem to work but we do speak spanish and skillbank is also a great  asset.

Personally if I was happy in knowing I had a good skill set, could speak the lingo then I don´t see why it should be a problem.  Many people say there aren´t jobs here but I think it depends on what you are looking for.  There are always job openings for specialised skills whereas construction work and waitering etc is hard to come by.

Well... I think that teaching English at home or through fun methods is always a good complement. If I were you I would go to Spanish Neighbours  Associations, Women´s associations, or any other kind of clubs with a good proposal.

It is always good to work contacts ( network). And to show different, well-priced products. Try to get the personalised style and to really care about your clients... that will bring you lots of work but also great satisfaction and benefits.

Everything children oriented usually kicks in, but again, be proffessional and caring. Do not see the activity just through the market, making-money glasses because it will lose interest, strength and success.
