Diesel in spain

Hi All

Thinking about changing our car .Can anyone tell me if diesel is as easy to get in Spain as petrol & how much does it cost?Didnt take any notice when we were out there as hire cars are usually petrol.

We had a diesel hire car in the summer & had no problems.

Sorry can't remember how much it was but petrol at the moment is 1.09 euros

I've just returned from Spain and I thought the prices for fuel had risen dramatically since my last visit.

Petrol now is quoted at most garages as 1.23 to 1.30+ and diesel was cheaper at 1.09.

My last two car hires have been for diesel cars and I have filled up at the garage just before you go into Alicante airport and I paid the above price.

Diesel it is called GasseleoA in Spain.

I have always had diesel cars here and it is as easy to get as unleaded in any garage.

If you do live anywhere near torrevieja it is worth getting one of their loyalty cards as you get anything between 6% and 12% discount of the pump price.

Thanks for all your replies. Looks like we shall buy a diesel Will look in to getting a loyalty card if available in Costa Almeria.

just to edit my previous post,i did mean to say at the "Carrefour garage using their loyalty card in Torrevieja".

Sorry, my head seems to think it is still the xmas holidays!!!! and refuses to work at the moment.
