Hi Mabel

Speak to  your Local Gestor in the Town or village you stay in. They will advise and assist  you with  what to do in this instance. Hope this helps

Hi Mabel.

You do not say which tax you mean.  However AS you say December it would seem you mean the 210 imputed tax on a property in spain owned by a non tax resident there

With income tax I should think a direct debit would not apply because it is not the tax office which calculates tax due but the tax payer, unlike say with IBI (Council tax) water, electricity, etc. where they bill the customer.

This should be straigh forward if you have a digital code, which will enable you to to everything through the Agentia Triburaria website. Otherwise, I agree that it will be best to use the services of a local gestor.

I agree with John: since non-resident income tax is by self assessment, you can't set up a direct debit because the agency won't know how much to debit you. You can pay by straightforward bank transfer, though, so I wonder why your bank didn't explain this to you?

Perhaps other non-residents here could advise how they go about submitting their tax returns & ensuring their tax is paid each year?
