As most will probably know, in Spain insurance policies normally cover any driver, although they do not cover an insured person to drive any other vehicle of the same type, as in UK.
I have just discovered that Linea Directa motorcycle Insurance only covers the insured person (owner) to drive the vehicle, but one can add another driver.
ADDITION
I just saw an advert for Linea Direct in Sur in English. The number for enquiries was 952 147834, instead of the long distance rates 902 number which they usually show. The number appears to be good for all types of insurance enquiries as one is given the choice of pressing buttons for what one requires, car / motorcycle/ house /new / existong customer etc.
I called, and to cut a long story short, they said I could add another driver to my policy (I was told by them yesterday that was not a possiblity). He has 20+ years M/C driving experience, no claims or convictions etc, the extra charge is 19 € on the anual premium, bring it to 225 € on a 600 cc bike.
