Hola! My family and I are moving to Spain in September. I will be looking for a local Spanish school for my two daughters  who are 8 and 9. Can anyone recommend some good state schools in the Mijas/Fuengirola areas please? Obviously ours will be a late application so we will only be able to go where there are spaces! Also, any top tips re renting and living in these ares would be gratefully received!

Many thanks

Lara

Hi,

Try St Anthony's college in La Cala Hills.  It has good reviews on facebook.  We also have an apartment there and its a great place.

Good  luck & congratulations for making the move.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for your reply but not looking for International schools, really want girls to go to a Spanish state school. We were over last month and I have fallen in love with La Cala! coming out again on Monday to check out areas in and around Mijas and Fuengirola. Can't wait for September! Quick question...planning to get our NIE's next week - is it ok to get them from San Pedro as that is where we are staying next week, even though we then want to live in Mijas/Fuengirola? Also - any top tips on getting NIE's apart from getting there early?!!

Thanks

Lara

La Cala is a great town my wife and are 5 minutes away the Beach is fantastic and the Boardwalk is too.

Gusto is a nice place to take a two hour lunch break make sure you ask for your steak well done ,as for schools a Spanish school is in la Cala its by the Park as you drive in from west side we often see the kids happily playing outdoors.

Its a great place to settle and pretty much everyone speaks English.

Let me know by PM if you need any help with.

Regards Rod
