I am desperate to leave Cambank and take my business elsewhere. Are there any banks offering remortgage deals ?

Hi manorpark,
Have you looked at the Barclays bank website, their offer looks interesting.
good rates and they cover up to E3000 costs.
I am thinking of looking into it myself, to get away from CAM.
We didnt find out till it had been to notary that we had been
granted a 15 year term rather than the 20
we were expecting.

Hi covcol and manorpark,

Barclays have a minimum limit on valuation and this is 150,000 euros. There is another lender that is offering to pay all costs if you switch to them and up to 5 years on Interest Only is available.

Hi,

Thanks for your posts. I have already tried Barclays and Halifax but have been turned down by both without explanation.

Might try again and see if they would consider taking is on.

Halifax don't do mortgages or very very few!

The whole process in general is very complicated particularly if the reason for re-mortgage is because circumstances have changed even if you try to re-structure with same lender as they mostly make you go through the whole re-application process again and then turn you down because you income is less than required but you still have a mortgage with them but NO NO NO they can't do anything that would help reduce your monthly outgoing ...........

One bank recently said they would happily re-mortgage (it was not equity release) if the same amount as the mortgage was placed on deposit with them. The Manager said this was a very good deal and they would give a good rate of return on the deposit. He could not understand why this was not a good deal.!!!!

With mortgages it really is a case of kicking a man when he is down.
