Jet2 Winter flights back on again Newcastle to Murcia

Amazing !!! after a 2 year stoppage on winter flights i see Jet2 have now re-introduced a winter schedule Ncle / Murcia / Ncle.

My wife and her sister have booked a trip out in November and i am about to book a bunch of us out for Xmas and New Year.

I know my wife and i (and many others) bought our Villa partly on the strength of Jet2 flying into Murcia from Newcastle all year round, admittedly on a reduced winter schedule but that was to be expected.

For the last 2 years we have had to fly either EasyJet (which i detest because of their treatment of passsengers as cattle) or Jet2 into Alicante and drive down by hire car to Murcia. At least with Jet2 you get an allocated seat so no need for this speedy boarding, run and fight to the plane  etc.... rip off.  

Hopefully at last, at least one of the airlines is starting to listen to passenger comments. Every time i fly with JET2 and i am asked to fill in a questionnaire i state clearly that i am not going on a business trip or a holiday to a hotel "IT IS MY SECOND HOME" and i want to be able to travel there all year round.

When they flew through the winter during 2006/07 the flights we flew on were always pretty much full so i cannot for the life of me understand why they pulled the flights 2008/09. 

Anyway, tonight i am a happier person.

I heard from a Jet2 employee that Murcia is going to be their main hub and they are going to put on extra flights through the winter to compensate for the withdrawal of Ryanair.  I also heard that Ryanair are back in talks with the Murcian tourist board to try and reach an agreement,.
