I only caught the end but some of the team officals looked very uncomfortable answering questions afterwards.

My OH just said Spain played 'pretty' football, crossed well enough but looked as if they hadn't a clue how to put the ball in the net whilst England (yes I KNOW England didn't play Spain, they played USA Saturday) weren't even pretty & couldn't play ...period!

I did not expect this from SPAIN! COMMON YOU CAN DO BETTER!!!! But don't lose hope we still got 2 more matches am confident we will make it there!!!!! GOOO SPAIN!!!!!!!

 I am wondering how the Spanish feel about the Vuvuzela. I might need to introduce Almeria when next I am there.

I got the distinct impression that Spain went into this match will the same assurance that they did against Poland a couple of weeks ago and expected the same sort of result.

This was not to be however...the Swiss were all over them like Messerschmidts around a squadron of Flying Fortresses...I'm not saying Spain were outclassed by any means, just that their method of play was such that it left a bit to be desired in defence.

Any time the Spanish team got anywhere near scoring the entire Swiss team ('cept the goalie of course!) were there waiting for them...and bless'em Spain didn't have an answer.

Fb, I Couldn't agree any more!

It seems that a lot of the countries you'd expect to do well in their opening matches aren't.

Maybe it is the noise of all those horns, I know it puts me off watching!

Having said that, I've put a wall bracket up on the large terrace, and hang the HD TV up on it, and run a 5m HD lead from the HD box for the matches, and during evening matches we have a BBQ.

Tis the best way to watch World Cup Footy...

Sat in the sun, stuffing face.... whilst getting s**t faced!!!!!

Really looking forward to our World Cup final BBQ party, have family over then, so will be a good party with family & friends!

This football is worse than motor racing and that's like Scalextric!!!!

when our boys come first and second like last Sunday, I can put up with a bit of Scalextric!  As for 22 men kicking a bag of air around worl championships..... I would love to see one the smaller nations getting a place in the final.

I watched the Spain match in a bar in Madrid with a couple of mates.  I thought Spain ponced about too much and had nothing in the final third.  It's lovely to watch them stroke the ball around but if there's no end product, what's the point?

I had originally wanted Spain to do well but I'd had enough of my Spanish colleagues boasting about how they were going to win the world cup, sin problema.  The Spanish media have been so over the top as well.  So I was happy for them to get beat.
