Does anyone know which months dogs are banned from beach areas in the summer?  I think it's from something like June to September but not 100% sure.

Hi Meijoo, would you mind filling your Spanish location in on your profile which enables others try to help you as all of Spain is not the same.

I think you'll find some beaches have a total exclusion rule, not that I have seen many observe this especially before May if it's quiet. We regularly use a seafront cafe at a beach where signs say no dogs yet people using the cafe let their dogs run about all over the beach.

Filled in profile. I live in La Azohia, Cartagena, Murcia. It's a lovely little hamlet popular for its diving and fresh sea food.  It reminds me a little of Cornwall, but in the sun.

It was EOS who put superstar there not me by the way, rather pretentious if you ask me & I did say I wasn't happy with it.

Might venture down your way for a day out in June. Could be rather pleasant.

If you like quiet for most of the time it's a perfect place.  The folks from Madrid tend to migrate here for the summer hols, it is quite a mix bag of people. It tends to be busier in the summer.  Do keep in touch and perhaps call up for a glass or two if you do decide to visit. 

Morerosado, don´t be so modest!  You have been posting on EOS for ages, and you try to help people on many different topics, so you actually deserve your status.

I have another motive for posting on here (apologies to meijoo!) - today we tried Viñahonda Monastrell 2009, Silvano Garcia´s Rosado, and I would like to recommend it to Morerosado!

I think the best advice I have read regarding dogs on beaches is to observe how many Spanish owners are taking their dogs there - and also use your common sense.  Sounds lovely where you are, though we have never been there.  We have visited Cartagena a few times and like it there.

Hi Sue, thanks for your advice on common sense, it make s sense. However, just wanted to know if anyone knew about the exact months etc. But you are right, I should use my common sense. There is no need to apologise sue, point taken. Cartagena is a nice place, small enough to be a big town, Roman festival in spetember is particularly cultural.

I like the name superstar, I don't think you should have changed it morerosado.

I know on the CDS dogs cannot go on the beaches between May and September.

Sorry Meijoo....that means Costa Del Sol!

Meijoo, CDS is Costa Del Sol but generally dogs aren't permitted on beaches in our area during that period too BUT there are notices up. Some say, as I said before, no dogs at any time.
