 Hi,

Does any one have a clue when these facilities will be finished and open to us?  We were over late Septmeber and they looked at final stages but I have not seen any threads or photos recently that show any progress.  I (Jane) am over Nov 5th for a week and was really hoping they might be available to use.......... does anyone have an update that might have been over very recently\?  Many thanks,  Jane

The Spa is muddling along nicely. The pool area is complete, as is the jacuzzi. The sauna is in place, the tiling finished and the roof finally fitted. After all that, they are now demolishing parts of the roof/walls etc., in order to install the heating and ventilation system. This would appear to be a common working practice in Spain.

Guess What?

They have actually cleaned the windows! Now there's no need to peer through dirty panes, you can see for yourself (in all it's glory) just how much work there is to do!

Might have been an idea to finish off all the dusty/dirty work first though? Not to mention, replacing the roof etc, etc.,

With a bit of luck we may get to use the pool before summer 2008!

I have added a couple of new photos including one of the indoor pool taken on Thursday.

We were last at the development at the end of August & the progress made in the time has been fantastic.

The waterfall is finished & was operational on Thursday - it is really impressive.

Hi,

We agree.  We had a look around the indoor pool area on Friday, and it is getting alaong nicely.  The workers say that it will be operational by November.  We still did not see an area that would be the lounge, unlesss it was down the staircase at the back.

Guess What?

They have installed some mean looking gym equipment (including free weights). There's water swirlling seductively around the jacuzzi, the swimming pool is displaying a fetching line in "bin bags" on the metal steps, and there appears to be a lot of activity regarding testing the water for Ph levels etc.,

Could this mean we are closer to seeing a result?

Still a few bits and bobs to tweak, but I reckon anyone coming out in the next fortnight may have the pleasure of indulging themselves in the "SPA" experience!!!

Despite caustic comments and personal slights, I intend to make full use of the facility and should anyone stand in my way...........God Help Them!!!

Never come between a woman and her pleasure......you have been warned!!! Unless  you bring chocolate and good red wine!!!!

Sorry, 3-2-1 back in the real world, just went into fantasy land, (the only legal indulgence I have nowdays!)

Toodle-Pip!

I spoke (attempted to anyway) to the Spanish manager overseeing the Spa and in door pool and he said in 10 days it will all be ready. Has anyone seem the steam/sauna room yet? I'm assuming it's the mystery door that's always locked.

If anyone needs to rent an apartment ours is available, drop me a pm.

Justin

Hi ,

Having just returned from Thalassa I have been able to view the spa/gym etc and I must say I am disappointed. The indoor pool is fine , a nice size in fact but that little jaccuzzi at the side would be too small in my little garden in Wales. When I last saw the area , the gym equipment and free weights consisted of a leg machine , a bike , a treadmill and some dumbells at the side of the pool. I hope that this is just a tempory thing and there is infact a fully equipped gym in a separate area and that little jacuzzi is just an extra as there is an adequately sized one behind one of the secret doors. I dont want to sound fussy here but these things were promised in the brochures etc . Or is it just me what do you think ?

Cheers Jay

hi jay,

i have to agree with you, i don't even think that the pool is big enough for the size of the development either,  i have not seen the gym equipment yet, but if this is all we are getting then that is total crap !   like you say, the glossy leaflets quoted  ' fully equiped gym with all the latest equipment ' as for the jacuzzi,  i would have a better one if i farted in my bath !   keymare or seasun need to sort this out !

I have been on cruise ships that proportionally had less heated indoor facilities ie pool size and jacuzzi sq metres per persons and the situation was that some-times there was no usage and no over-crowding at any time.Al Andalus Thalassa also has two large  out-door pools. Remember also the occupancy factor ,the urbanisation is never going to be totally full. When the out-door pools are closed for Winter and usage is concentrated on the indoor facilities ,it will be the low usage seasons and  therefore low ocuppancy.

Some Hotels have larger occupancies and similar heated poll facilities, they are usually not full, usage is staggered,every-one is not swimming at the precis same time .

There will of course be an initial novelty factor ,when usage will increase.

Go to pictures to see the most recent photos (taken this morning).

Note the "official" launch date, 23rd November. Also note that the official capacity for the pool is only 43 people at any one time. I guess we can discuss the proposed opening times once the place is up and running.

Just a SUGGESTION, don't hang me for it!!! Will there be an "Age-Limit" regarding the safe usage of gym equipment, sauna, jacuzzi etc? Will just the indoor pool be unavailable during the summer months, or will all facilities be shut-down? Who will police the spa? Will the spa be locked at a set time, example 10pm? If so, what time will the spa be available from?

Will we have to wait for the "MEETING", before decisions are made, or will Seasun make these decisions on our behalf? Answers on a post-card please!!!!! Oh, by the way, if any of you are expecting mail in your post boxes, you will have a long wait! We were told (after waiting for a delivery from England) that, unlike the UK, where we enjoy a daily postal delivery service, Spain does not operate in the same way. We don't know if this is true, but it would explain why we still haven't received our post. The spanish post office will only deliver stamped-addressed postage when they have amassed a thousand or more for the one address! Don't know if this is for the whole development, or just for your personal post box. Should you wish to receive regular post, then you have to purchase a "mail box", which I am told are available from the "Gym Shop" at the Puerto Rey roundabout. Apparently, most "bills" are hand-delivered by the companies, which explains how we have received our water bill.

Look forward to your replies,

Regards,

Lorraine Braid 12-3-07.

I suggest that you all go and have a look at the great photos that Lorraine has posted. The view of the complex across the pool through the glass is a brilliant shot.
Unfortunately we will only be over until the 20th Nov and it all opens on the 23rd.
