HOLA

Restaruantes Chinnese.....

OK,,,,,,, You  have the   Wok Enfu   in the Centro Hispaña ,just down the road from Thalassa, 9.50 euros all you can eat , a bottle of   vino de la casa  (house wine)4.90 euros and when you get the bill they give you a bottle of wine the same as you orderd free,!!!!  or the Resturante Chino  "Pekin"   which is next to the "Beer Emporium" which in turn is on the left hand side of the road into Garrucha. I always have the "Menu del Chef"  prawn crackers, soup, large spring roll,,, fried rice with 4 various dishes including a bottle of  "vino de la casa" all for 9,90 euros per person,

Sorry but I don´t know of many GOOD English resturantes as I only use Spanish, they are always alot cheaper and nicer, for example a good "meñu de dia "(menu of the day) at any Spanish place 8.50 to 10 euros including wine,,, the same at an English place in Parque Comercial, Mojacar, 18-20 euros and only a glass of wine   not a bottle,,,, paying for the privilage of speaking  English. Try Spanish, places ,,,,, and be surprised what you get !!!! you might like it ,,you might not ,but give it a go and good luck

There was already a thread for "restaurants" here that I started a couple of weeks ago. These are a few of the restaurants that we found in the area. We speak no more than a few words of Spanish but we had no problems.

La Cabana - Paseo del Mediterraneo, Mojacar - Fabulous Steaks

La Capilla - Also known as the Monastery. From Al Andalus Thalassa, go straight across all the roundabouts, as if you were going to Mojacar but instead of turning off left to Mojacar, go straight ahead & it is on the left by the petrol station. You need to book though - Fabulous setting for a special occasion as it is slightly more expensive.

Tito Paco - Avda Almeria, Turre (Main Street) - Pizzeria but also does some traditional Spanish food. Excellent Value.

El Birra - Paseo del Mediteraneo, Garrucha - Excellent Fish restaurant. Empty at 8.45 - manically busy with Spaniards by 9pm. Just past the childrens playground by the harbour.

Casa Adelina - Turre (Main Street) Traditional Spanish food. Gets very busy so it is better to book.

The Shamrock - Paseo del Mediterraneo, Mojacar. Excellent food, friendly staff & good prices.

The Luau Pit - Nice place for lunch. A little pricy but a nice place with views of the beach & they also have a swimming pool. Close to the Reina Hotel but closer to the beach.

The Wok Buffet - Great value for money, especially the food that is cooked by the chef while you watch. A bit manic & noisy though.

Although the Turre restaurants are probably as far as the Mojacar ones, it takes less time because you don't hit all the traffic along the beach.

Enjoy!!

We found another little gem last week.

El Mar, La Mar in Villaricos. If you go down to the bottom roundabout & turn left - follow that road until you come to the "tower" on your right & the restaurant is then just a few yards further down on the left.

They do English & Spanish food & have a wide range of fish dishes as well. The seafood paella at 10 euros per person was absolutely superb.

I would recommend booking though - 950 467 030

They have a website www.elmarlamar.com
