I know there's been a number of previous threads on apartment insurance but I'm not quite sure on what level of cover to go for. I'm OK with the contents bit, but what about the buildings aspect. For example, I'm thinking about things like having to repair ceilings, etc should we suffer a water leak. I suppose I don't know where the Resortalia cover ends, and ours need to start.

Any advice appreciated

Jim

You don't need to worry about buildings insurance Jim it's covered under your community fees,  you only need contents,  you can either get this from your bank or with through resortalia with the same company the buildings insurance is with.

Do you get the weekly emails off resortalia.

Hi Richard, thanks for clearing that up. I don't get to see the weekly emails, I did previously request them from Resortalia but got zero response. I assumed it was because we weren't "full" residents yet.

Send another email to resortalia and put it for the attention of Miguel,  he is usually pretty switched on,  they should add you to the email list at this stage.

If you want to PM me your email I'll forward you last week's and any from now on until you get added onto the list.

Just took out the Mapfre contents insurance via Resortalia. Reasonable value at 111€ for 6.000€ dwellings, 150.000€ civil liabilities and 23.500€ furnishings cover.
