I did not see any of the offending posts here, but maybe a little comment from my Mother could help.
Some years ago, when Chris and I were trying to cement our two families togethet, (second marrage for both, and 2 children each)
Chris's elder son (then 16) and myself, had a very hard time.
I was whinning (spelling?) to my Mother. She said to me " who's the ADULT there?"
It was hard for me to accept that, I felt so hard done by, and very mis-understood.
But it made me sit back and think about how I behaved.
When I took a good look at my behaviour, I saw why Chris's son reacted the way he did.
I knew that I had to change the way I behaved.
We now get on very well, I even got a Mothers Day card from him last week!
