Solar Power for the pool heating and garden lights?

As part of a 3 year plan for our community we want to look at installing solar heating for our pool in the winter and also to power the community lights in the gardens
Has solar been a benefit or just a hassle that doesnt work efficiently for any other community - any advice, tips and dont do's on systems or recommendations for suppliers.
Anyone got any knowledge of the grants currently available - someone mentioned 50% a while ago is this still available and how do you get it?

Hi All
I have just found an article about heating pools using heat exchangers - does anybody know anything them? The company has a website - heatedpoolsspain - It looks good but I do not know who the people are or where they are established - anyone ave any info?
