Hi,

Heres an interesting one. We recently visited the apartment, and then when we have returned, having looked over our contracts/plans we have realised the detached storeroom has had a corner taken away - presumably for pipes/ducting or something like that.

On the plans, it clearly shows the storeroom as being rectangular (and approx 12.5 m2) in actual fact, as I say, it has a corner missing and I would guess we have lost about 1.5 - 2 m2.

So, what do we do? Its nothing that would put us off buying, or really even cause any problems to us, but its still around 2% of our space gone. Whats the likely outcome?

Cheers.

For cancelling you need a reduction of at least 10%. You are entitled to price reduction in your case.

Really - thats interesting. When should we do anything about this? Right away or wait?

What sort of reduction could we be looking at if its around a 2% loss of area?

As I say, we do not wish to cancel at all.

Dear Superdon:

Make a proportion calculation ( euros-squared meters9 to obtain what the 2% of your property costs and ask for that now, through a official mean: burofax.

Best,

Maria
