Moving to Spain

We are hopefully moving to Spain in 2015.  I have just read about removal companies and someone suggested hiring a truck and driving across.  I have also read that all items being taken into Spain have to be listed with serial numbers etc etc with two copies one in Spanish and all items must correspond with the list, is this the case?  Where do we stand if we drive across ourselves?

To be honest I have only heard of one couple who moved over and had to list all of their stuff, and that was because it was being sent over from outside the EU in a container.

Usually you just load up and come over. If you want to get your stuff brought out for you, I have a friend with a transport company who can quote if you want. He comes over every couple of weeks in a 40ft lorry and takes care of anything that is need. If you want his number send me a PM or email and I will send it to you
