DOWNLOADING PHOTOS FROM LAPTOP TO A C.D.DISC.

can anyone give me some advice.

in the past I have downloaded photos  with no problem, but I

got a new laptop a few months ago and for the first time yesterday

I tried to download photos on to a c.d. from my laptop, I thought I had

downloaded correctly but when I tried to view the photos on my t.v.

through my d.v.d.player it shows the disc as blank.I have tried other discs

in my d.v.d. player and both c.d. and d.v.d. discs work okay. 

what am I doing wrong. ????

I am no whizz on this stuff but I have had much the same thing as you, one thing that did get me for a while was that the laptop I use just wouldn't do anything with Phillips C/D's or DVD's, changed to Verbalin disc's (Spelling) and no problems at all, why Phillips have no idea.

The other thing I got was that while one laptop would transfer almost everything to disc, this new one did not, and found out it was the way in which the format my photos were being taken, the format JPEG etc, once I caught onto this I downloaded a piece from the internet which changed the format for anything, and everything worked.

One other thing which you might have forgot to do, I did, was to format them at the end of the recording, it generally ask's you if you want to play them on other media devices, one way to find out is to see if they will play back on the original computer you recorded them on, if they do then it seems a good bet they haven't been formatted correctly.

Hope something I have said helps you, It beats me though.

the c.d. i am using is verbatim.

when i load the c.d. to play back on the laptop it just

shows a list of phots (All numbers) and it says JPG file

and on the right hand side of the page it shows a disc stating 

that there is 183 items on the disc,(that is the correct number of

photos I downloaded) but I do not know what to do next to get the

disc to play on the laptop to check if the photos are on the disc, HELP

This is a wild guess, does the recording / playback system you have on your new laptop recognise JPG file as in your photos, I have had this that my laptop says "Format not recognised" thats why I had to change the format on a couple of sets of photos I did for someone, maybe put your whole photo complaint into google and see what that comes up with.

I am going to do a set of photos now on mine and see if I can reproduce what you have, but please don't hold your breath, wish one of my young Granddaughters were here...They tell me.

Just done recorded a set of photos onto disc, they play back okay on the laptop, the only thing they did do first was come up in numbers and words JPG, so I double clicked on one and they all came up with the photos, don't think thats any help with your problem, the disc, believe it or not the only one handy and it was a Tesco disc, and when I looked at it it's a DVD+RW 4.7GB, now on recall I did have some problems with CD's so perhaps this is why I have DVD disc's now.

Will run this through the DVD player at home tonight and see if it works...Not that much of what I have said helps you out I know, and I hope it hasn't confused the issue to much.
