New Owner

Hi

We have recently bought an apartment on Mar Menor II and was after some advice regarding satellite TV.  Does anyone know what options we have?  I ideally would like Sky.

Also, can anyone recommend electrical shops?  We need to buy TV's / microwave / kettle etc.

 Regarding satellite TV ask around neighbours when you come here.

We use Electro Regalo in Roldan. They are very good when there are problems and they install goods.

In Dos Mares indoor centre there is Wortons and on the way into Cartagena there are lots of shops in Centro Mediteraneo.

We have also used a little electrical shop beside the supermercado Mercadona in Los Alcazares.`

Totally agree with the last point, we used Electro Regalo in Roldan for all our kitchen appliances and they delivered everything and gave us a very good discount. nice people, speak good English.

I regularly work on all of the resorts fitting and repairing air con and quite often bump into the delivery guys from Electro regalo in Roldan. They do offer a good selection and service for electrical goods. You could also try Media Markt in Cartagena or Euronics in Los Alcazares. TV and internet... we don,t line on one of the resorts, but use teleast for our TV and internet. They are reliable and offer a variety of services. I also often see A2Z about a lot so they might be worth trying

A2Z are Polaris World telecommunications - offering in some resorts a compressed cable type service. Teleast are a rebroadcaster offering as stated above internet & TV - the TV is questionably legal (illegal according to the EU, they have no permission or licenses to retransmit content - a long standing thorn in the side of many UK broadcasters) however this is Spain, so law a little behind. Ultimately with these TV services you would be paying a monthly fee for a retransmitted service which you can pick up on a satellite dish, with more channels, better picture quality and no monthly payments or ongoing subscription payments for the reception of FTA UK TV.

Some of the resorts in Murcia do already have satellite community systems - El Valle being one (we installed it before Polaris World / a2z took over maintenance & started butchering it!).... Mar Menor 2 allows community members in apartment blocks to put up & share dishes again offering a free ongoing service - we've put in 5 or 6 apartment blocks in this location. Unfortunately there is not presently a community solution in MM1 or MM2 in Murcia as the community is still in dispute with Polaris World over who owns the communal ducts...PW playing silly buggers trying to control every aspect of the resort, including telecomms - an ongoing issue with a few of these resorts.

We purchased lots of goods from EURONICS store on Camposol about a 25 minute drive from Mar Menor. Owned by an English family who have been in business for several years they have a nice show room and order and install, all electricals, Sat TV Sky etc, Air Con ect . nice people to deal with and fair with prices. If you have any issues they are there on the spot to resolve
