I would be annoyed and angry if i lived in uk

but i always feel lucky that i can get uk tv in spain but my spanish wife likes a bit off bbc news before she goes to work.

is this just our dish or is the switchover in progress?

All OK here in the Axarquía region of Málaga province. General info seems to be that the BBC channels are moving to the new satellite in early Feb, so any problems before then are not linked to that.

thanks for your conformation tamara

must be the dish then.

we have a community dish and no individual boxes in the house.

it actually comes out of a normal antenna cable that you plug into the back of the tv.

german, english, spanihs, french, arabic and some others but only bbc seem affected.

BBC channels are schedule to move from Astra 1N to Astra 2E "mid 2013" - after the 2E satellite has been launched. They are NOT schedule to move to the 2F satellite which was launched late last year.

So your loss of chanenls has nothign to do with the satellite switchover.

Oh wow

didnt expect an expert opinion.

i have my own dish but the community will only let me use one installer to put it up and he wants 500 to 700 euros.

he wont put my dish up and says i need to buy a 1.5 off him instead of use my almost new 1.3

so i would rather chew glass than be ripped off for a 20 minite job and put up with occasional loss of channels.

We seem to have lost BBC on Costa Blanca North yesterday. Any news satandpcguy, or others?

There have been no changes to BBC channels since October 2012. Their next change is late summer / September, when they move to the second of three new satellites.

And all signals are normal for BBC channels.

Any issues with reception will be down to your own individual systems...be it dish alignment, nasties inside LNB, poor cabling,.....
