 Dear All,

provocation is fine if it produces anything of interest.

the bad news is that sleep did not come until the early hours when the temperature dropped a little.

the humidity certainly killed the benefit of the increased warmth.

Is it generally less humid in Spain?

Regards

Norman

How I can talk about nice weather in UK being bad news probably reinforces the stereotype that us Brits always find things to moan about.  However, though lovely and sunny here in the Mids, it is very humid, especially indoors.  Though only a couple of degrees below that of Spain when we left, it really does feel muggy and sticky. Of course, the double glazing, heavily insulated, cavity wall filled houses with wall to wall fitted carpets are not conducive to cooling down.  Whilst cursing the marble floors in Spain during the winter, they were so cooling in the summer.

Half my pansies died off whilst I was away and the front lawn is burnt to a crisp.  Just been out raking it over and it is looking horrible, all dry and dusty.  Looks like I'm going to have to rotavate the whole thing and relay turf on it.  UK being UK, they are talking of a hosepipe ban because it is almost 3 weeks since it rained!  When you remember how much rain there actually was just a few short weeks ago you wonder where it has all gone to.  I suppose if I do relay the turf the hosepipe ban will come in and then that lot can die off as well.

But Peteha you're no better than those who appear to irritate you so intensely when you comment as you do, it's incensing people.  This forum used to have many posters & we generally had great fun together without the nastiness from certain members who post these days. The spiteful comments, & you have written more than your fair share, are making the forum an unattractive place to be.

I see your previous post has been edited so you must see how that was perceived.by EOS team. Could we please have posts that aren't so cynical of some. It would be very much appreciated.  I'm nothing to do with EOS ... I just value the forum & want it to come across to many as better than currently it is doing, certainly to ones I chat with!

Thanks!

I respect your comments moreresado .

However, if you want to have a bland lovey dovey forum so be it.

because we have commented against certain posters we have been called morons.

is this acceptable posting?.

they made mistakes but take no responsibility its all the fault of the Spanish

THe irony being it is a Spanish lawyer on this forum pulling most of you out of

the mess you got yourselves into.

HOW DO YOU THINK SHE FEELS WHEN YOU ARE CONSTANTLY SLAGGING OFF HER COUNTRY

I have lived here 11 years  and take the good with the bad

i have just returned from a brilliant night watching Spain progress in the world cup SEMIS

with our Spanish and English neighbours.

WE live here full time and do not recognise the Spain those who dont portray

i tried to bring a bit of levity into the postings but the censors objected.

I will continue to read postings but will no longer contribute.

Be carefull all who post against Norman and Goodstitch the censors will have you in the end

You should be ashamed Justin

Peteha, debating is one thing, personal insults flying about regularly in many threads are another & there are many involved.

You said ... 'they made mistakes but take no responsibility its all the fault of the Spanish

THe irony being it is a Spanish lawyer on this forum pulling most of you out of the mess you got yourselves into.

HOW DO YOU THINK SHE FEELS WHEN YOU ARE CONSTANTLY SLAGGING OFF HER COUNTRY'

If you're speaking about those who have ... through no fault of their own ... been sadly involved in corruption then you just are not grasping the situation at all ("there but for the grace of God" phrase springs to mind) but I would not be so insulting as to go further than saying that. There is a way to express yourself & many on forums generally haven't learnt respect.

As for Maria, she (I believe) is as upset as many that certain aspects of HER country treats many as it does & she (I believe) would not consider that some 'are constantly slagging off  her country' as you put it!.

Yes Spain were great last night. We also watched it & could almost hear the fireworks from Britain. Last week we were watching them win in Spain.
