any one bought in playa mojacar

hiya,

i know NIE numbers must now be applied for in person and then collected again, which i have been told can be between 14 days and 4 weeks.

everyone listed on the deeds must have an NIE number, and you must have your NIE number when signing your deeds on completion.

you can do it through the spanish consulate in the uk, however it takes 4 months to come back.

but can someone help me clear a few things up for me?

atlas are telling me i must apply for my NIE number in Murcia city, but others have applied for it other places. atlas cant tell me if any of the NIE offices will be open in august and the spanish consulate dont know either.

I cannot not find a contact number to try and find this out.

any help, much appreciated.

It is possible you might have to go to murcia as it does depend on the area you are buying and as sg is under murcia that is were you should go. We were able to go to torrevieja as iberian let us use them as our contact and they have an office there.

I did see an Atlas office right on the corner of the street beside the nie office so they should beable to do the same for you iam am positive about this.

thank you very much. i am struggling with this at the moment and atlas is not what you call being helpful.

i dont want to fly out and find the office is closed or fly out and find out i am at the wrong office.

I know what you mean Dee. When w were standing in the queue there was a lady there who had queued twice from 5am at 2 other offices only to find out at 9am she was in the wrong place. Thats how I found out about districts and stuff. How awful would that be. At least she was 3rd time lucky. poor girl.

   we applied for our nie number at cartagena which can only be done tues and thurs.our solicitor took us there as part of our agreed fee and it was very easy ,only there 5 mins.good to see every body more upbeat.

Hi,

If you are with Atlas why don't you let them arrange it for you if they are your agents they will help.  They took us there, Herman picked 8 of us up from hotel, he checked all our paperwork first, took us to Murcia, got us to the front of the queue, did all the translation for us checked us in couple at a time and we were just in and out. Did feel a bit guilty queue jumping but at least it was another job done.  Also, they say you should allow 6 weeks for the actual papers to come through as you need those to sign over, and we were told you have to pick them up in person showing your passport.  Atlas have ours at the Client Service office ready for picking up.

originally atlas said they would get our nie numbers for us, and then the new law came out and they phoned a couple of weeks ago to say we would now have to go over and to in in person, however atlas say they need 6 weeks notice to arrange the visit but it cannot be the first week of september as it is conference week. so 2nd week of september then add on the 4-6weeks for the nie numbers to come through,  the deeds may have to be signed for before that(with a bit of luck). so think should play it safe and go get nie number before that.

WE ARE NOT THAT SURE BUT I DID HEAR THAT YOU CAN GET NIE NUMBERS FROM THE SPANISH CONSULATE IN LONDON (BUT YOU HAVE TO GO THERE) TO SORT OUT THE PAPER WORK...THEN THEY SEND IT OFF TO SPAIN BUT I DONT KNOW HOW LONG IT TAKES.....

Just got word from my agent if you want to go yourself for nie number they advise to go to cartagena. Its open tuesday and thursday mornings. You would need to be there early.

1 Apellido: Surname

2 Apellido : (second Surname) Write three chiffons instead (---)

Nombre : Christian Name (make sure to use same as in passport)

Fecha de Nacimiento: Date of birth (use two digits for day and month)

Lugar de nacimiento: Place of birth

Sexo : Gender "H" for Male (Hombre) and "M" Female (Mujer) . X cross the one applicable

Estado Civil: Status. S for single C for married. V for widow and D for divorced

País de nacimiento: Country of Birth

País de nacionalidad: Current Nationality

Domicilio en España: Address in Spain (if you have one, otherwise leave blank)

SECTION 2

Reasons for application:

Economic, Professional or Social (Tick professional for work reasons or social for house purchase)

SECTION 3

DOMICILIO A EFECTOS DE NOTIFICACIONES

Leave blank as you pick up the NIE yourself they have no need to send you notifaction

Sign the form at the bottom, under 'firma de solicitante'.

Complete the form and take it back to the National Police station, along with a photocopy. You also need to provide your original passport and a photocopy. That's it ! You will then be told to return in approx. 1-4 weeks time when your number will be ready to collect. You need this number to do anything fiscal in Spain however you can open a bank account with your passport number

going to speak to atlas tomorrow. surely a week is long enough for them to find out what nie offices are open in august and if we can go to another one, instead of murcia city - atlas are saying it can only be murcia city.
