Dog crap Cayetano

The behaviour of owners and their pets should be defined within the rules of the community and there will be mechanisms for penalties should these rules not be adhered to. Someone needs to speak with Taray about the establishment of the communities and these rules. As I understand, the developer is initally responsible for setting up the community and then it is handed over to the community once the administrators have been elected.

The community has the power to take action against these people and now is the time to be setting the ground rules. Perhaps someone on site could follow this up with Taray and then feedback to the group?

While i agree that the issue of dog mess must be resolved on the development, I have to say  that , as a resident of SC, I am not aware of these pitbull type dogs, I have never seen them or 'packs' of dogs roaming around the development. The dogs I have seen have all been on leads. Maybe I'm going around with my eyes shut !!

And incidentally Vox Populia, 'cutting to the chase', I as a resident ,have no idea "whose dogs are crapping in SC" !!

I have added a couple of links relating to info about community rules etc. The second is a set of rules for an urbanization in Spain - Artilce 14 is of particular interest. We need to ensure that simailar rules are established so owners are aware of the expectations of the community.

I understand that we have an elected President for Manzana 4.  How far along are we with committee members? We're not going to be residents so not looking to become one but interested as to where we are.

THE LAW

All domestic pets in Spain must be identified by microchip or a clearly readable tattoo.

Dogs should be kept on a lead in all public places.

Dangerous dogs are listed at the Town Hall [ayuntamiento].

The two dogs in question are definitely on this list.

Anybody questionning the fact that these two s......g machines are in operation need to gather on the corner of Limonero and Peral, somewhere between 9 - 9.30am daily.

The owner watches them and does nothing.

She knows who she is, we know who she is and I think the majority of SC knows who she is. One of these dogs has a reputation, so, beware.

Well said Strewth, the problem about the dog owners definately needs sorting in a more formal way and hopefully with the ongoing introduction of Community bye-laws this type of known unacceptable behaviour can be challenged.

Hello all in SC, i was just wondering if anyone who is over there on a full time basis have actually challenged these "Mutts" about their dogs??.

I do not know if anyone has recently but when I was last over I was told the police had stopped the owner and and asked that they be muzzled. I do not know how true this is but if they do not listen to the police they will not listen to the other residents.

The lady with the white dog that is at present wearing socks, the dog must have an injury. Dog has just crapped on my doorstep? Where do they live?

I just scooped into a bag and took round to her house and put it in her hand, I told her thats the second time ive seen her do it. Always an excuse this time the mobilephone. Im upset because my son had slipped on his rollerboots and fell in the first lot she left, luckily it just skimmed his hand but still i was scrubbing his poor fingers for ages afterwards. im getting to the point where i have to drive of site to let my kids play now. Tomorrow myself and a spanish family are driving to La ribera park as we are sick of the kids having to avoid the dog crap here proving some of the spanish are sick of it also.

Thanks for the pms. I understand people find it difficult to speak out on this matter. I have recieved an email today that the 3 black dogs are back out roaming with no leads. I will be going to the police station on my next visit and I advise as many people to complain as possible before someone gets bitten. Lets hope its not a child.

I'm not sure where the dogs have been seen roaming without leads but I have seen them (I assume they're the same dogs) on their leads being taken away from the site to waste ground where they are then let off their leads to run around.

I don't see this as a problem.  Do you?

On the matter of dog crap......it is much better now. Its the sheep we should be worried about.........anybody who walks where the sheep have been will know what I mean.

Well Donna im pleased to say I am now officially in the PICKER UPPER club. I have a running companion in the shape of a greyhound and this morning had my poo bag safely tucked away in a place hard to imagine!

Did you have to say " Haaaares running!!" to get him to run with you? lol

Nope, he was perfect! He trotted all the way round with me, didnt even break a sweat and didnt run under my feet. Hes soooo lurrvely!

WE would say that alot of the chap on the gravel area is down to cats has it is quite small and in small dips inthe gravel so how that we have trained the dog owners we will have to train the cat owners as well
