Dog crap Cayetano

Hello, everyone

I have just posted the latest on this thread.  Sorry for not introducing myself in that but I really didn't think my post would be successful as I have been trying to post for weeks without luck (Justin, what do you know - success at last!)

We're Sheila and Keith from Romford, Essex and we have been so grateful for all the advice and information we have picked up from you guys so please keep it coming so that rookies like us can benefit from all your experience.

Our snagging inspection is due tomorrow so fingers crossed!

Grantham, I agree with what you say regarding community action must be taken to stop this filthy and dangerous behavior. Community appointee or not I am sure that the majority of homeowners will not tolorate this beaviour carrying on and need to decide how to tackle these offenders head on. Any ideas anyone?? Lets all stop complaining about it  (me included) and put our heads together to put a stop to it now.

"Security" guard employed by the community - spread the cost across all residents - would be minamal per year.

we are very concerned about all the dog crap and more importantly that the owners are known and appear not to be bothered? Clearly the problem lies with the owners and not the dogs, and that's where consideration of community bye-law must be enforced ASAP.  We are hoping to complete this year and like many others who have Children, Grand children, friends etc you wouldn't want to be spending all your time warding off dangerous out of control four legged bruts with no regard to bowel movement!  Concentrating on the owners of these shiting machines would be far more productive in our opinion!

My plan of action for my street is for the kids to design something and to have them made up properly and if the street supports me then I shall put them up.

I wasnt going to but i cant help myself and have to post. Driving along this morning and i saw a girl had stood in crap. Her and I assume her mother were trying to wipe it off her boot with a tiny piece of tissue or paper, probably ended up on fingers... grose. As a mother I know how an accident like that can put you in such a bad mood. The last time my daughter stood in it, i took off her trainers and chucked them in the nearest street bin, I could not stand the smell and decided I would just have to spend another 30pound on a new pair. I have mentioned before I have a money tree.

Posters here we come! Anyone with children, draw something and give it to me!!!

To contradict myself I suspect my suggestion would not be viable because the only people who would be willing to contribute would be those that give a s***. Those members of the "community" that we are needing to deal with clearly would not be in favour of paying out for something that potentially adversely affects them. However maybe we shouldn't let that stop us from taking action that benefits the genuine majority... there would be other benefits from having some sort of regular patrol service (other than just offending dogs / dog owners).

Nothing against the posters - its great that a few people care enough about the community to want to go to this trouble - but unfortunately I doubt that they will work - we have a dog but its reading skills are limimted!! Seriously owners of such dogs clearly don't care less about their neighbours and by the sounds of it wouldn't give the posters a second thought.

On a wider subject does anyone fully understand what powers, if any, the "community" has?

Over here in Middlesbrough, if I see it I challenge it, If I know them and they do nothing about it, guess were it ends up, back in their own property.

Last night I dreamt I was being chased by a giant dog turd and woke up in a hot steamy sweat. This is a sign that I must leave this thread. Good luck everyone but im all turded out now and need to focus on positve things like encouraging everyones pets to run away!

Oh dear Tina, that is not good! Well, I am here for four weeks and will continue the campaign for a cleaner and healthier community and hopfully your dreams will be of ice cream and chocolate flakes.

On our arrival, a week today, I watched a young man walk his two dogs, one black and one white and I was pleased to see that he actually picked up an extra two turds. Well done whoever you are. I was bitterly disappointed with the owner of  the two black dogs, who I only know  as pitbulls, out on their own. From what I witnessed the young man with his two dogs quickly called them back and  rushed off home as soon as he saw the two black dogs. Not a good sign. I guessed he did this because he knew the dogs to be unsafe. I then witnessed both dogs crapping. The fatter of the two right by the childrens play area and the other on the path. The owner was no where to be seen. These two dogs seem to run amoke. Everyday they come out, in fact, twice a day, and piss and crap wherever they like. I was led to believe that all dogs must be on a lead when walked in a public area. I have been told that the dogs belong to someone called Shirley or Sheila so PLEASE Shirley or Sheila clear up after your dogs. It only takes a second. All you have to do is hold your breath, put your hand in a plastic bag, scoop up the crap, tie up the bag and put it in the bin. If you did that everytime we can all live happily ever after.

How about the rest of us doing our bit by saving our plastic bags and giving them to the owner of the dog crappers.

I like Gill's idea of naming and shaming the dogs and owners and where they stay. I am surprised that who is currently legally responsible for the maintence and cleaning of the public areas has not taken action against the culprits.

Shooting them sounds a good idea, not the owners just the dogs. Ok both, that would solve the problem.  lol

This sound like a job for the new sheriff (president of the community)

I am beginning to wonder about the quality of some of the people we have chosen to live with also. We had 3 piles of dog mess appear in 2 days outside our house and I am tired of putting other peoples bags of rubbish in the bins after cats have ripped them open.

I think there are a few good ideas regarding this problem, When we get setup and elect the president I think a fine would be apropeate but you do need to be counted when you see it being done not just put note on a web page

I did my bit for the community today, i picked up some dog crap. I have washed my hands about 1000 times since...... aaarrrgggghhhhhhhhh

Lets cut the chase, the current residents in SC know exactly whose dogs are crapping in SC.

It seems its just a few spoiling it for the rest. We are coming out with friends who have children. If these pitbull dogs are in anyway a threat to these children then I will do what I need to do to protect them, whatever it takes. I know the police will always put the safety of children before dangerous dogs that were not on leads. If one is known to be aggresive then we must inform the police and see what they can do about it. This is selfish childish behaviour on the owners part. If I see it on my next visit I shall film it and take it to the police myself.

I am always in touch with certain residents and am well informed about what is going on .
