I am heading out to AAT next thursday and with a bit of luck Spain will be playing in the semi final of Euro 2008 that evening. Does anyone know of a good bar, preferably Spanish (to get into the atmosphere more) to watch the tournament. Would be great if they get all the way to the final.

I can't remember the name of the place, but if you come out of Thalassa and head for the Vera- Playa hotel, there is a little row of bars (one of them is an excellent tapas bar), one of them is decked out in what looked like footbal memorabilia and had a blackboard outside advertising the football. PM Dave Baxter, he'll know which one it is as he was looking to buy it at one time, although he may now recommend elsewhere  .

I think that' the one Ken. That bar may not be Spanish, but the taas bar next door is, and they are very friendly  .

The final roundabout take the third exit then turn almost immediately right,follow road round and they are on your right.

The best real Spanish bar to go and watch football is El Gato in Villaricos, the atmosphere is fantastic. If you go to the square you have the Plaza bar and diagonally opposite is El Gato, the prices are good and the tapas and meas are great.
