Hi, we're looking to relocate to Spain and are interested in the Islands. It's been sometime since we visited Tenerife and we wondered if it is still a 'party island' or if this had changed now? We'd been told that all the clubbers now go to greece or cyprus and it's a much nicer place for it.

Also, from my research it seems that property prices remain much more static on the islands, with less availability and consistent demand meaning that it is a safer place to purchase at the moment.

Hi Jewels50

Glad your move was a happy choice.

There are some EOS members from your new area, I am sure they will post to say hello soon!

Good luck with your new venture.

According to friends who are there, certain parts of  Tenerife (the well known touristy bits) are still as bad as ever, although not quite in the numbers it was a few years ago.

Falling numbers in British tourists have hit the Canaries quite hard over the last couple of years.

I lived in Cyprus from 2000 till 2002 and my friends there have told me that the place has become very quiet.

Falling numbers in "young" tourists has made it a bit more cut throat in reeling them in.

If you want a more peaceful existence then check out Lanzarote.

I posted a reply in the "What's the area like?" Forum, you might like to read.

Regards

Rick
