Can we post details of our favourite eating places say from Playa Flamenca area to La Marina, taking in Torrevieja & Guardamar, & inland to around as far as Almoradi & San Miguel. YOUR personal experiences, addresses, phone nos, directions from a particular place & what you had to eat, with ideas of costs, prices of house wines. Closing days, do they do a MDD lunch/evenings. Anything that will encourage others to go & check the restaurants out. When did you last go too.
I've tried many recommended by some forums & found great places. I'll start.

San Miguel de las Salinas, inland from Torrevieja. Market Street Restaurant. Calle Calvario. Tel 966 723 965 & 600 371 706. It's closed Sunday evenings & Mondays. Took about 7 mins to reach on a straight run from N332 at the southern end of Torrevieja. We went as a party of six one lunchtime in September 2006. You HAVE to book. It's a small place & you CAN smoke though people DID the decent thing & went out. It was 13 € for the MDD. I believe it's 15 € for Sunday lunch & if it's anything like our fantastic MDD it'll be well worth it. (Don't know if Sunday lunch will include a half bottle of wine as we have found most restaurants DON'T do on Sundays.) Evenings are a la carte. MDD menu was unbelievable. We all felt really spoilt. We had half a bottle of wine each. We had alioli with various fancy breads. Some of us had the best soup we'd tasted. I had a little pot of pate topped with onion marmalade, served with a selection of toasted breads, some seeded. Four of our party chose pork knuckles with apple mash & portions were so large the restaurant gave our friends a doggy bag with the meat they couldn't manage in it. I had garlic chicken with a creamy sauce. Chris had fish. We had dishes of saute potatoes, carrots, broccoli, courgettes & cauli. Desserts were so yummy though two of our party were far too stuffed so they had coffees instead. I had chocolate creme brulee topped with those teeny orange coloured fruits they dust with icing sugar, what are they called ? Some had pancakes with fruits & icecream. One had various fresh fruits with a chocolate dip. Can't wait to go again. Everything was piping hot, staff were attentive. English run.
