Hiya,

I don't know what the problem is, but I will go on the assumption that it won't start a cycle and/or won't drain?

This is the most common problem with dishwashers, and is usually due to the fact:

1) The dishwasher has moved backwards slightly, and therefore 'kinked' the drain pipe, so it can't drain.
2) There is a blockage in the drain hose.

Both of these problems will stop a dishwasher doing anything, as it will always 'drain' at the start of a new cycle, so moving the machine forward should cure both.

Also, it could be a 'logic control' problem, in which case, switch off at the mains, leave it for 30 mins, and then switch in on and try again. TRY THIS 1ST.

I'm not an Engineer, however I used to work for a Euronics company here in Devon, and over a period of four years, about 85% of the amount of people that would want to buy a new Dishwasher or arrange an Engineer to visit, was simply down to the above.

Hi,
Thanx for reply, its not the problem you say. As i can see that there is burning at the back of the machine, where the mains cable comes into the machine. It connects to some sort of solanoid at this point. If i could get to the part and find one for the machine in Spain, then i would change it myself.

Don't forget that you have two years warranty in Spain on all your household electrical goods.

If it is out of warranty, what's the cost of a new Dishwasher in Spain these days? They are cheap as chips for a decent machine here in the UK.

Bendix is currently one of my favourites for Dishwashers, made to the same spec as Zanussi. Not suprising, seeing as Bendix and Zanussi belong to the same owner group, which is Electrolux.
