Hiya all or anyone.  I am moving out permenantly at the end of January 2007 and would like to know if there are any other single 57 year young ladies out there who have already made the move and find it the best thing they have ever done or otherwise-hope not.  My move is near to Santiago de Ribera and actually do not really know anyone there apart from those who I have had contact with while purchasing my property, so again if there is anyone there who may want to communicate with me that would be lovely.  Anyway I wait in anticipation if anyone feels they could possible contact me.
Cheers
Tricia F

Hi Tricia.

Well a 57 year old lady moving to Spain permantly must have a lot of bottle. We are retiring to Spain in a couple of years or so and it is a lovely country with great weather and a very civalized way of life. To do what you are doing is tremendous and you are obviously a "winner" and survivour, so we wish you all the luck in the world and am sure you will do just fine.

Well done you! I visit regularly and would love to be brave enough to make the move but have to keep the day job to pay the mortgage .  I don't think my house is far from you - I'm near San Pedro del Pinatar.  Spanish and English friends living in murcia are great.  The area is fabulous. I'm sure you'll meet lovely people and enjoy yourself.  Good luck!

Hi parcela and Bob

Thanks so much for your lovely replies.  I am now moving out this Wednesday 22nd permanently.  I will be living in long term rent until my place is ready early new year.  Everyone says the same as you have said; I don't see it that way.  It's something I have always wanted to do and now on my own I'm going for it.  Yes I agree it will all be a bit daunting doing all the legal work but hey I'll get through it - I hope.  People keep saying I am brave too.  Hope I'm not being naive.  Parcela I don't think you are too far away, my nearest beach area will be Santiago de Ribera.

Hi Tricia - good to hear from a kindred soul!!  I have just bought a villa in Torrevieja which I plan to rent for a few years before moving out permanently in 2008 - when I will be 53.  It is a bit daunting to make the move on your own but I don't want to be sitting here in my dotage wondering "what if ...?".

Do keep us up to date on your move!

Enjoy!!

Claire
