Had a bit of a trawl through the existing threads, but can't really see any answers to my questions, so sorry if they've been answered before.

When based in Cyprus (yes, another Woodhouse Eaves/9 Sigs veteran here), I passed a Cypriot bike test to allow me to ride a CBR600 out there. However, upon my return to the UK, I was informed that it wasn't transferable and I would need to pass CBTs I & II before I could ride a similar sized bike. Looked at the timescale, expense (training, tests, bike, clothing, insurance etc) and the ridiculous amount of bike crime in the UK, not to mention the weather, and decided to pass on two-wheels for the time being.

Anyway, now I'm moving out to Spain, I was wondering what the situation was in Spain re motorcycles. Do they have an equivalent to the CBT in the UK? Is it possible to do a fast-track course? Would rusty command of the Spanish language cause any difficulties?

Any help/advice would be welcome.

Cheers, Mark.

Hi Mark, our family was based at 9th Sigs (formally 2 Wireless Regt pre 1958) from 1958 - 61 then 1962 - 65  I was also at Birdhill Road, Woodhouse Eaves as dad worked at Beaumanor Park. Small world. Don't want to ruin your thread but maybe we know each other or you knew my parents, don't know your age.

I also have two wheels. No, none of these is me !

It's probably unlikely that we know each other, or families. I'm a relative sprog. Was at Woodhouse Eaves from '89-'91 and 9 Sigs until '99.

Looking to move to Spain while I'm still young enough to make the most of it. No offence intended.

Mark

Hello Mark,

welcome to the forum.

Have you ever done the TT circuit in Isle of Man?
