Corgi Registered Gas Fitter - Benalmadena
The Comments |
Hi,
I am looking at sending a LPG gas fire out to Spain (as it appears cheaper to do that) & was looking for a corgi registered fitter to install it for me. Based in Benalmadena.
Thanks
John

Isn't the Gorgi registration only applicable to UK ?
In Spain one must use a fitter qualified under Spanish Law.
Try Google ‘Instalador de gas Benalmadena’ you will find several

CORGI registration has not been a requirement or qualification in the UK for about 5 years since CORGI did nt offer the Brown envelope to whoever. The requirements in the UK are GasSafe which is or appears to be a rival organisation which has gained government approval

So JohnMac now you know for sure about UK, but as you are asking about Spain, I suspect that precise info will be of little use for you..

Are you going to run the fire off a single gas bottle or do you have a LPG installation?
If the former, just buy a empty gas bottle (plenty available at markets etc) then change it for a new full one at the supplier (no questions asked if you take a empty one) You would then need to buy a regulator valve for the bottle and that normally comes complete with a hose to attach the fire.
Repsol and Cepsa are the main suppliers in your area, they would send a engineer out to inspect it if you asked them.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I am going to run the fire off a single ottle and I have a bottle.
I am looking for someone qualified to fit the fire and test that the installation is safe, as it is my family home.
I only said Corgi registered as I know that is a reputable standard and it would give me piece of mind.
Regards
John
