VPN & Netflix

Like many of us I am looking at IPTV. A friend has mentioned a possible alternative by paying for a VPN service and then registering for Netflix in the uk which I understand carries several tv channels.
Does anyone know whether Netflix carries many tv channels or is mainly for films. Also can anyone recommend a reliable VPN company. Thanks

Can't comment on Netflix but have just signed up for StrongVPN @ $55pa. Expat Shield stopped offering BBC channels without subscription and we had problems trying to download Hotspot Shield so opted for StrongVPN, so far so good.
