Suma tax

We are due to payaour suma tax (local rates I think) When we go to the bank with our bill can we pay by Debit or Credit Card or has it got to be cash . Does anyone know

SUMA isthe collection agency for taxes such as IBI (council tax) and road tax, specifically in the Alicante region. Our local office does not accept cash but does accept debit cards. Best thing is to set up a direct debit.

If you are paying the bill at your own bank and this is a bank listed on the invoice (see back page) then you can pay it from your own account (effectively cash). If it is not your bank, then pay by cash.
The problem with paying by DD is you lose control of the date to be paid.

If you have a digital ID (they're not difficult to obtain) you can register and pay it online by debit card or credit card, but I think they have to be spanish. It wouldn't except my english credit card. You can also pay car tax etc, and access your bills online.
