According to the Guinness World Records, the record for the largest number of Skinny Dippers (swimming naked) in one place is currently 413, set in 2011. Hear say suggests this has been broken and now stands at something like 516, though there is nothing on the Guinness Records web site to confirm this.
At 12 Noon on Sunday 21 July there will be a formal attempt to break the record at Vera Playa Naturist Beach, Almeria. The event has been organised by a group of ex-pats and is open to all nationalities – the date has been chosen because it coincides with the Spanish Naturists’ “bathing without costumes day”, so we are hoping for a huge boost.
We don’t just want to break the record, we want to demolish it! Vera’s Mayor and Tourist Board are behind us, Vera branch of Lions International will be helping out with Marshalling, and so all we now need is you. Please come along, have fun, and help us put Vera Playa into the World Records.
