Valencia airport to Murcia airport

 Hi, 

I am flying into Valencia airport on a Sunday and just wondering is there a train or bus service that will take me to Murcia airport as I have to meet family there. The flight is due to arrive at 1pm

Any help appreciated

the flight is quite expensive, it would be an option to rent a car and drive down, but as someone who has no experience driving on spanish roads i would prefer not to. I do plan on driving at some stage as i'm staying for a few months but i don't think i'm ready yet as i would be a bag of nerves.

Can only think of trying the train. There's a metro station at  Valencia airport that will take you into Valencia city  (about 5 euro)  where the mainline stations are. Here's where you can check out some train details.    http://www.renfe.com/

The nearest train station to Murcia ( San Javier ) Airport, would be Balsicas Mar Manor or Torre Pacheco.

Have to decide between taking the train and driving now!

You've certainly got  over a 3 hr journey travelling on the train & it only takes you into Murcia city, NOT Murcia airport. It being a Sunday doesn't help either. i just looked, putting in June 26th, a Sunday to get the times. http://www.renfe.com/EN/viajeros/index.html

Hi - I live fairly close to San Javier airport and have driven to Valencia before.  It is actually a very pleasant drive and is motorway all the way. 

I must say that I find driving in Spain so much easier than in the UK so this may be your best bet.  If you have a Sat Nav then that is great, but otherwise you would head for Alicante airport and then continue on the AP7 for Cartagena - San Javier airport is just a few minutes off the motorway.  There are some tolls around Benidorm, Alicante and Torrevieja, but it may still work out cheaper than any other method of transport.
