My son wants an item from Amazon.

It's free delivery in UK but with Spanish address it's GBP38 in P&P - almost doubles the cost of the item!

Anyone any enterprising ideas when buying from amazan or ebay etc

I recently orded a few books from Amazon and it was only 10 quid to get them delivered here by courier.  Maybe your son has chosen a more expesive delivery option or it is something really heavy.

It is a bigish box.

I have purchased items in past and no major additional cost but also it seems to depend on whether it is Amazon or a a re-seller etc

It might be worth talking to Keith at http://www.ukshoppinginspain.com/

They order products for expats and get them delivered to their door.

As they use couriers they may be able to get you a better price.  Not sure but may be worth asking.

Hi - I recently bought books from Amazon (not from the Marketplace though) and got free delivery as the order was over £25.  I thought it was worth ordering extra books to get the free delivery from them.

The other option is to have it sent to someone in the UK for free, and get them to mail it to you, it often works out a lot cheaper!!

That's what we do!

We have the parcel delivered to family in the UK and then have them send it to us via Offex Marbella.

Also we can send the other way, and we sent a large parcel back to the UK last week, which was just under 5kg, and it only cost 25€ and arrived there in four days! Dropped the parcel off locally on Friday afternoon and it arrived Wednesday morning!

You can also send and receive normal mail via their service.

Amazon are now saying they will deliver to Spain free if you spend over £25, this was only last week.

By choosing items that are sold directly from Amazon rather than a 3rd party keeps the delivery price down, I ordered books, DVD's and a stair gate a few weeks ago and the delivery was 13€ (now it would be delivered for free).

 play.com deliver free in Spain.

This is a good website to check out who delivers to Spain

www.laplazaspain.com

or  www.supermarketdeliveriestospain.com for those of us who like to shop from Asda or Tesco’s, delivery is not free but the savings especially on children’s clothes are worth it.

Hi,

The Book Depository offers free worlwide delivery and often their prices are as good as Amazons. Great selection of books too.
