AngryAm I the only one, or has anyone else noticed how the streets and walkways of Huerta Nueva or getting to be like the streets of Paris - full of DOG POO (thought I would be polite).
Come on you dog owners (and there are a lot of us) try being caring and considerate, and clean up after your dog. It is not rocket science and we are all capable of doing it. Why spoil what could be a lovely environment by leaving your dog mess on the pavements. walkways or roadsides.
However if you like living in 'dog poo land' then move to Paris, you will feel right at home and leave us to enjoy clean(ish) streets.

Having returned from Los Olivos yesterday i totally agree...    Walking to Los Gallardos on Sunday evening was a nightmare trying to dodge the dog poo on the pavements and roads..... i wonder would the dog owners who leave this mess like it walking into their houses !!!!!!!!!!!

I was also astonished to see a three piece suite left by the wheelie bins  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did the culprit reaaly think the bin men would take it ????

Please lets be responsible for our own environment and take more care

Who does Sgt Bilko from Nº 22 Los Limoneros think he is, the lake or the alley way are not an extension of his garden, he does not have any power from the ayuntamiento Los Gallardos to make any decision regarding what or who goes in the lake or putting rocks in the alley ,  but he keeps blocking up holes in the ground around the lake  and putting rock in the alley (WHY) ??????

This man is the first to complain about DOG POO or gets petitions saying that we cant hang washing in our front gardens, but on the other hand, he can dump his rubbish in the campo, keep the alley untidy with his water bottles and rocks, build around his house illegally with NO small reform licence using Russian builders and not paying I.V.A. The outside wall of his property where his put facia stone and looks a mess, this belong to the ayuntamiento as its on the roadside.

These people also dont care about the environment they water their garden three times a day, now  at 3 ´Clock in the afternoon when its the hottest the water just evaporates and the plants tend not to like this,  he also leaves his fairy and spot lights on all night so that the bats can see where they are going.

Also the Spanish think that it is RUDE walking around the streets with out no shirt on, and this seems to be happening more often with the English residents around Huerta Nueva, in the past you could get fined by the Guardia for this, If your hot go to the pool.................

People seem to forget that we are in Spain and the rules are not the same as in England

I would like people to comment on the above

Kind Regards

Martin

Well we know what side Martin is on - clearly he belongs to the minority who believe they have a right to destroy the efforts of BMS and others in trying to make Huerta Nueva a more pleasant place to live.

Is he so short sighted that he does not realise that the lake is fenced off for a reason. Why would any sane person want an expanse of water open to small children, dogs and idiots - not only is it a danger to them and anyone else who may have to go in to help rescue those in difficulty, but they stand the risk of puncturing the membrane, causing more problems for all that live in the area.

I am one of the few that have offered to assist in trying to keep this from happening. Yes Martin is correct in saying we do not have the 'power from the ayuntamiento' but why should the majority have to put up with the destructive minority?

He quite rightly states that we are living in Spain, but then seems to want everyone to act as though they are in the UK and allow our lives to be blighted by the few uncaring inconsiderate idiots around.

With regard to the 'rocks in the alley', thses have been placed there to try to prevent the horses and motorbikes that have used the alley as a short cut thus putting innocent walkers (young and old) at risk.

With regard to the rest of his personal tirade against this one particular home owner, if he feels that strongly about all the points stated,  I assume that he (Martin) has had the courage to speak to the people concerned in person or would that be asking too much???

Clearly Martin is one of those people with plenty of time to do nothing but watch what one family are doing to know so much about their way of life. Shame!

Firstly I don’t recall insulting anyone in any of my post, so thank you for showing your true colours (Chief).

Any effort to destroy or make unpleasant has been created by Mr Sgt Bilko and Co, by putting sand around where the lake has been built up so that the dogs now foul in this area and behind Sgt Bilko´s house, Never mind him fly tipping his rubbish in the campo so that children could get hurt or endanger our natural wild life.

If you want to do something constructive why not pursue with the local authorities to put bins around so that dog owners can discard of their dogs mess.

Also the lake should have a gate for easy access in case of emergency and there should be lifesaving equipment around it. As for the dogs most will only go in for a drink or a quick swim, but it is not his or your decision to make this rule up.

Consideration for the elderly and young down the ally way, well an elderly person with a walking stick or frame would find it a struggle getting passed these rocks, never mind a mother with a push chair, so these residents don’t have rights then in your eyes. If a child on a bicycle fell on these rocks who would be liable? BMS have installed bollards and no other alley requires rocks in the middle so why does this one.

However you are correct I should speak with Mr Sgt Bilko, but did he speak to every one in the community regarding his actions, I think not, my point is that nobody should be doing any reforms as they please around areas that concern the whole of the community of Huerta Nueva. As your nick suggest too many Chiefs and not enough Indians.

I will speak with the local authorities regarding these issues when I return to Spain in a fortnight, as this is the correct procedure.

Kind Regards

Martin

Martin Anthony Morrison (if that is your real name). Regarding the rocks in the alleyway.  I put them there to protect people walking down the alleyway as a stupid motorbike came racing down one night a nearly went into a friend walking their dog. We have also had horses going down there too. As for the rocks around the lake, it was done to stop an accident happening and some stupid idiot keeps pulling down the fence panels and kicking in the sand and stones. Perhaps they would enjoy seeing a child hurt before something is done. I agree, it looks horrible but it would look even worse if nobody did anything to protect it. As regards to the dog poo, yes I do complain because some dirty people are quite happy to just leave it on the pavement, we have heard people say that this place is sh.. pan alley, it’s a shame because most people do pick up but suffer for those dirty people who don’t. As for the rubbish, it was rubble that was put passed the lake in a hole and not household rubbish. If you had been looking longer, lots of other people including the BMS builders have done the same. As for petitions, it was done by request (not ours) and most people wanted to sign it. No one said washing was not allowed in the garden. As for the bottles of PLAIN WATER, it was suggested by a Spanish person that a bottle with nothing but PLAIN WATER was put on the corner to prevent dogs weeing up the wall and on the whole it works. (Not one dog has been hurt by it). No one else has complained. Not even the dogs. As for illegally building, one, it was not Russians (GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT) two, it is not illegal as we have own our own front wall. It is not like a communidad. As for looking a mess, our neighbor liked it so much he had it done too. You are the only one so far to complain. As for watering the garden 3 times a day, you are either a peeping tom or a very sad person who spies on our house. Either way, you are weird. I water my garden when I think it needs watering and NEVER 3 times a day. In future if you see me watering the garden at 3pm instead of creeping about, come up and talk to us like a man. We are always willing to talk FACE TO FACE not behind your back.  As for fairy lights (Blimey, this gets sadder and sadder) you must be very tired by now if you stay up all night to make sure they are still on, if you actually do, then you know that they are on a timer and I’m sure the bats really appreciate a little help to see. Finally, as for walking about with no shirt on, 1,it is very rare and 2, what era are you from? I have been here for nearly three years when the workmen were still here, most of them who were SPANISH workmen walked about with no shirt.

Don’t forget, you are always welcome to come and discuss any problems you may have regarding our lifestyle.

Rob & Val (who are approachable) and you spelt our name wrong as it’s not sgt bilko.

Am I the only one who thinks this is not really an appropriate discussion for this forum?   In my view, the forum should be used to try to bring people together - not drive a wedge (or in this case a rock) between them.    Why don't the waring factions simply get together, or discuss things via private e mails?

It is very difficult to visualise what is being argued over - but it does not sound as though it is Los Olivos to me.  Of course the lake and its preservation is important to all of us, but it is still difficult to visualise what it is that is being fought over!!

From here in the UK - no, I don't think I do want dogs, or people going into the lake - sounds like a recipe for disaster!!!

I could not agree with you more about this being sorted out by us privately. Unfortunately, we have no knowledge of who it is that's making these allegations. If Martin wants to come to us for a quiet chat, then we are all for it. We were told about this only last night by a neighbour who  is just as upset as we are that this person finds it more appropriate to talk about us via the net not to us in person.

It seems we now have two threads (Paris and Wildlife) on the so called 'Sgt Bilko' saga,

The one thing that is very clear is that this is one persons 'personal' vendetta against another family and this forum is NOT the place for such actions.

As I stated before, Martin should pluck up some courage and discuss his issues with Rob and Val face to face and should refrain from going public until he has done so. Otherwise he should shut up.

Also if as he states, he will go to the local authorities when he returns to Spain, that is his right. But I would suggest he makes sure he is in possesion of all the true facts before doing so. Whilst there perhaps HE could have a go at the local authorities about the 'safety issues' of the lake, and the availability of 'dog poo' bins.

Enough said on the matter, by me anyway. Now has anyone something proper to discuss?

Regards

Colin

HI THERE

CONCERNING THE ROCKS IN THE ALLY I DO AGREE WITH MARTIN AS I WAS STAYING IN MY APARTMENT A FEW MONTHS AGO AND HAD MY ELDERLY MOTHER WITH ME IN A WHEEL CHAIR AND WANTED TO LOOK AT THE PROGRESS OF THE LAKE . THE ROCKS STOPPED US FROM GETTING TO THE LAKE, I DID TRY TO MOVE THEM BUT DID NOT HAVE THE STRENTH TO DO. WE WENT TO THE OTHER ENTRANCE AND COULD NOT MANAGE THE TERRAIN  SO.GAVE UP................ AS FOR THE LAKE WHERE CHILDREN ARE CONCERNED THATS A NO NO, THE DOGS I CANT SEE THE HARM IN IT MYSELF .

THE POO BINS WOULD BE A GREAT IDEA,

BFLY
