Property wealth tax and unleased urban property tax for non fiscal residents

Just got back from a wonderful week in LO, and thought I would give you all an update of life as I see it!!

The community is looking excellent - lush grass, little birds singing, most plants have established and the pool is still wonderful, though getting cooler.  A couple of guys worked everyday on the red paving around the area and around the lake - slow but steady.  Private gardens and terraces starting to look great so lots of ideas for planting etc!!!  The hotel behind is also coming on slowly but surely (no sign of roads going in to it!!).  The area is developing in spite of slowdown in housing market - building is continuing in L Gallardos, Turre, and all around Vera.  The word is that the high speed train tunnels are being dug out but noone knows where!!!  BMS have published an artist impression of the commercial centre - very nice.  Dr is moving into it.  Lake just about ready and I think will have water very soon.

The Bad:

Very few workmen around now at all.  We are thinking that it is going to be easier just to get the little things done privately.  We only want a washer for the dishwasher but fat chance it would seem. 

Very little action from Marinsol (already talking about that, and maybe they are about to leap into action).

Still no paint on walls around garden and pool.   Site still untidy, but you have to look at the wonderful views!!!

The Ugly:

I was with a female friend, and did not feel at all unsafe BUT there was an unsavoury burglary on HN where, I understand, gas was used to subdue residents.  The window had been left open, so just be careful when you are out.

All in all - I stand by what I have always said - a lovely site, and the build quality is I think generally very good and compares well with other sites.  We will get there!

Thanks for the update, Linda.  I haven't been back since signing (there wasn't even so much as a blade of grass then!) so appreciate heaaring about how the site is developing.  Do you have any photos you could post so that I can drool over how it looks now?  I will be taking a long break at LO soon though and i'm really looking forward to it, regardless of how cool the water in the pool might be getting.

OK - you have all called my bluff!!!  I thought I would get a lot of replies saying 'hotel? which hotel????'   Am I the only one then who did not know that a hotel was being built behind us???????

Well everyone seems to be getting very serious on this site with various postings at the moment.

So some joy, the builders have just cleared and levelled the ground at the far end of Los Olivos, parallel to Calle Las Palmeras.

They even cleared some of the rubbish from this area while doing this work.

A company of gardeners were also seen and presumed to be preparing a quote for Trees, shrubs etc to

complete the work on this land which was always designated as "Green Belt".

Work continues around the water feature and the two roads below Los Olivos, Calle Romeros and Calle Adelfas were Tarmaced.

Rumour abounds that Villas will be started on the ridge parallel to Calle Azahar. ( Good old rumour new he'd appear)

Speculation as to the exact location of the High Speed railway line continues. Word has it that they are tunneling already .

So I seem to have covered Facts, Rumours and speculation oh yes the pool is still duff.

But to sum up Paradise was wonderfull!

Back in January. Yes Yes Yes

Dare I say Marinasol, no don't go there.
