did anyone see gmtv this morning?  I did not but my wife mentioned that Vera was featured on there, as some people were facing their homes being demolished because of no licences.

There was a house demolished last week (Wednesday I think) somewhere up behind the Vera Hotel towards the Cabrera Mountains.

Apparently the owners had all the correct licences, paperwork etc in place from the Vera Town Hall to build the property about 6 years ago but the Andalucia government say that they were not legal & after a  long legal battle the bulldozers moved in last week.

There was an article in the daily mail last week & the topic has been discussed on the general forum of EOS. The thread is in the General Chat section with the title - Home demolished in Vera.

I feel that we should all be thankful that we bought our homes through a reputable builder and developer who ensured that all the correct legal formalities where in place .I know that it is most certainly one of my main reasons for using Keymare
I also believe that is why when we are concerned about snags ,we should put the situation into perspective.

how can you be so sure that thallassa wont be demolished. The people in question also used a reputable developer and had all the planning permission aproved by vera town hall. The problem is that the Andalus gouvernment have said that vera council should not have granted the liscence. How do we know that Thallassa isnt in the same position?

Please excuse my abruptness, but as far as I know the Vera town liscences are the only ones hallassa has. Does anyone know any different?

if so please put me out of my misery and let me know, if you have information froma higher level than vera council/town hall

I heard on the grape vine, that Lorraine is preparing to lock herself in the lift in support of the unfortunate couple in question, she of course will be doing this with the full support of KM.

Whatever gave you the impression that I would be chaining myself to a lamp-post in support of the poor, unfortunate couple whose house was demolished?

Heaven forbid! The last time someone chained me to anything i was being paid an outrageous amount of money, and those leather thongs don't half chaffe! Oo err missus!!!

As for locking myself in the lift, I don't need KeyMare's permission for that!

And as for Noreen complaining, I don't know how you've arrived at that conclusion? The woman's a Saint!

I could be offended by your presumptive nature, but I did get a sense of humour for Christmas, just haven't fathomed where to put the batteries yet!! Something about where the sun don't shine eh Noreen?!***

Regards,

Lorraine (three sheets to the wind) Braid.

\theMail (monday) had a two page spread on the issue.  They named the Solicitor, and yes he was also mine. So no worry there ??

Joking apart, I hope that I never have to experience what that poor, unfortunate couple have endured.

The devastation of losing your home would be hard enough to bear, but to lose it after you where under the impression that your solicitor had checked all the relevant paperwork, it doesn't bear thinking about.

Somebody somewhere was aware of the status of the land, whoever that person is should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. What they have done is truly criminal!

Lorraine Braid.

Maybe someone knows better but, in every case I've seen or heard reported, this only seems to happen to individuals who buy plots of land/villas/houses.  I haven't heard of a whole urbanisation being demolished and I think the idea of somewhere between 500 and 1,000 angry owners would be a helluva deterrent!

Suzi Q at last we have the voice of reason.I am glad that you came along because I had an awful feeling that some posts had blown this out of all proportion.
