We are in block 22 and the last few times we have been over the fountains outside our place are on 24/7. I love the sound of waterfalls, seaside etc., but I find that the  constant man made sound of water in the respect,a bit much.  My husband has no problems with the sounds - however he is a little hard of hearing! Whilst I can sleep with the windows closed during the colder months, I can hear it from every part of the apartment.

Is it me or does anyone else find this irritating? Even if you don't Isn't rather over the top for the pumps to be going all the time in terms of power costs???

Someone else please agree with me................

Christine

Whilst I understand your point of view and appreciate your your concern ,it is fortunate that it can be turned off ,properties increase in value by thousands of pounds because they are next to running water.and they cannot be controlled.Traffic noise and the sound of mopeds with no silencers as is the norm in most Spanish towns would be far worse.,When we visited in November the waterfall went off at night. approx mid-night,has that changed.?
If it was the sound of waves crashing on the beach in front of your home would that concern you ,I believe that eventually you will not hear it any-more ,because your brain will filter the sound, but whilst you allow it to irritate ,it is remaining on your mind ,I believe irrespective of his hearing ,your husband is probably more composed about it .

Hi,

We are over for Christmas and new year.  The main waterfall fountain comes on at about 9am and goes off at around 10pm.

Hi Christine,

We are in block 23 and were over in October and found the constant noise annoying.

We are due out again on the 7th Feb for 10 days and were hoping they would have got the timers sorted by then.Especially as they have other water features working properly. As you say at least we will be sleeping (or trying) with the windows shut.

Cheers and Happy New Year to EVERYONE.

Hello all and Happy New Year

We've just come back and I did have a conversation with someone who said that they seem to be on all the time.

It didn't bother them but maybe the timer could be changed. I'm sure it's the same princiapal as with the sprinklers.

cheers

Thanks for the response to those of you who resisted the temptation to post a patronising message!

It is a fact that these particular fountains are on 24/7 and not controlled by a timing device like others around the complex.

I note Gareth has put the item up for discussion at the meeting and I am very grateful

As an intellegent professional individual, I have always attempted to be empathetic to individual concerns raised  on this web site - whether or not they direct affect me.

In this respect I think its important that when responding, we are careful and mindful, not antagonise individual situations by making comments that are unhelpful.

I know this is on the list that Gareth compiled but I can also add it to the list of questions that are going to Seasun on Wednesday.

I am sure the noise of constant water can be irritating & whilst it does contribute to the ambience of Thalassa, 24/7 does seem a bit excessive.
