Hi and a very merry Xmas to all,

This weekend we had a drive up to Jumilla and although we still await the final licence, I'd just like to finish off this year with our hopefully positive perspective.

We visited the site at approx the same time last year and were fortunately enough to see the first load of concrete being poured into foundations. At that time, all that was visible were holes in the ground around R4 & R6. Twelve months later, I am astonished on just how much progress has taken place and how vast (and quickly) SJG have progressed with footings and construction. Both the entrances are complete which broadens the whole scale of this urbanisation. I know it's not as fast as we would all like but it's fantastic to gauge how much progress has been made.

We met up with friends and business associates we've made in the town and they are all gearing up to the urbanisation being completed. They, like us, want to see this commenced expeditiously, they can see the economic benefits an urbanisation like this brings and for them, the sooner the better. They also believe there is very little adverse objection to the urbanisation and suggest January will be when all will be agreed and licence granted, which ties into the latest comments from SJG. If this is the case, and based upon how much has taken place this last twelve months, i personally feel extremely confident many people on this forum (and other forums) will have a complete property by the propsed Dec 2008 completion recently released by SJG.

If anyone is already planning to come out next year to see for themselves the progress, would be really nice to meet up and share a bottle of wine (or two)

Feliz Navidad to all

Darren & Michelle

Yeah good on you guys for some positive views!!! .

Like yourselves,  we visited the site back in October and saw a massive amount of footings had been installed across a wide area since our previous visit in May. We do not have any friends or business links in the area, however I  believe the SADM development is part of a massive investment and regeneration for the wider Murcia region and that it will go ahead.

Yes it is very frustrating even worrying, when things have gone past completion dates It seems things are done differently in Spain and we just have to go with how things are. After all isnt the slower / more relaxed lifestyle what most of us want to move towards ?

This will be a  truly stunning place to live once its completed.

Best Regards for Christmas and hope some of us get be in SADM for Christmas 2008 !!!

Darren. It is a pity that our paths did not cross as I too was in Jumilla but last Thursday when you were in the UK rather than the weekend when you had returned to Spain. Whilst I share your sentiments about the amount of concrete deposited on the site and the two entrances almost being complete the state of the golf course and the conflicting information coming from SJG and the Town Hall in Jumilla leaves me a little less optimistic than yourself and your friends and assocites in the town of Jumilla itself.

Whilst I also deep down feel that the development will eventually start I really cannot imagine, based on what I saw and was told last week that any properties will be ready for occupation before the end of 2008 despite the amount of footing work that has been done since we were there last in February of this year.

Kind regards. James.

Kevin.....sent you a pm (hi's to Vera)

James....i'm sure we'll get plenty more chances....we're back over briefly for xmas with the family so when you are next out, we'll meet for a bite to eat and catch up (send our hi's to Linda).

Ken & Philomena....hope you're both well, thanks for the comments, we like a lot of other do get despondent, it's only natural when you cannot see an end in sight but by visiting the urbanisation and seeing what has taken place really does lift our spirits. That and the fact the sun has been shining, it's a balmy 15C over by us at the coast which makes golf all the more pleasurable.

Unfortunately, i think there is no middle-ground, you either have to go in to this with full commitment and accept the delays along the way, or you draw a line under the experience and pull out (which will be more demoralising in our eyes). If you try and get caught in the middle, you'll send yourself insane !!!!! What the middle ground does create however is differentiating opinions and that can (and i'm sure  has) created negative personal opinions of those who ultimately, will be our neighbours, and which in the long run none of us I'm sure want to instill.

If it's of any use to anyone, come Feb 08 (and hopefully the licences) we'll be creating a 'blog' on our website with regular weekly updates of what is happening on site (and hopefully within SJG), backed up with photo's. Once again, if anyone would like their own personal update on their plot, just drop us a line.

Keep the faith

Us !

So that explains why i'm going insane i can now fire my therapist.

While i can understand peoples differing opinions. If a pint glass contains half a pint is it half full or half empty etc.

What i would like to know is how can you put a positive spin on the blatant disregard for the law regarding bank guarantees and the attitude of if you don't like it take us to court response to anybodys official demands.

Also the flipant remarks concerning so called slight delays. Personnaly the delays in themselves are not a problem to me unlike the veil of deceipt that they are wrapped up in. But i appreciate to some people the delay is a major problem after all it is peoples lives they are toying with as well as there finances.

My main concern is for possible purchasers reading these forums. I feel we have a duty  to keep them informed of the possible pit falls and arm them with the knowledge to avoid making the mistakes many of us have made. I feel we cannot do this by glossing over the problems that exist.

Wishing not to cause offence (except to SJ)

Ken.

Vera and I have visited the site four times in the last Ten months and although the building of walls has not happened evry time we go theres a lot more happened in terms of footings , although I have to say the golf course is at a standstill but we know why that is and await this issue to be resolved.

It will happen but not on the time scale we expect

Happy Christmas to you all

kevin and Vera
