I sympathise with many of the buyers at Casares del Sol. I was one of the first and believe me it was hell.

Miguel did his best and then Cardiffs freelance services were employed which greatly helped, however at my recent visit on 12th Sept until 21st Sept I learnt that Cardiffs services were dispenced with by senior management on the basis of COST !!!!!

Interlaken are one of the most disgracefull companies I have ever had the misfortune to deal with and I think as much bad publicity as possible should be used against them.

Has anyone been given the glossy so called ' Property Owners Manual. Blocks 1 -15 Casares del Sol ?

In this manual the introductory letter written by the Chief Executive Officer - Mr Juan P Pena makes interesting reading. Please try and obtain a copy if you dont already have one. Jill or Tracy in the MLH office should be able to obtain one. The joke is that it was obviously written as though the site is fully completed and everyone is happily enjoying their 'luxury apartments'. What an absolute farce. I think he and his co directors must have searched for the cheapest and lowest calibre tradesman to build and finish these apartments in order to maximise on profit . The workmanship is rubbish and with a disorganised infrastucture in place. The appliances are a cheap quality and not at all robust and suitable for letting.

What finally made me decide to write all this is the fact that after writing personally to Mr Juan Pena in June of this year he hasn't even had the courtesy to acknowledge receipt of my letter even though I have reminded and chased a response via the offices of MLH regularly over the past few months.

Anyone that has any contacts with the press should try and get them down there to interview some of the buyers but in particular the Chief Executive Officer to ask him how he managed to write such a totally misleading introduction in his Property Owners Manual.

Best of luck everyone !

Good morning Christo,

Thanks for update on CDS just checked out situation with Cardiff he has in deed been demoted by builder, and told not to help clients with any snagging problems or to ask workers to do any jobs on site he has no authority.

This is appalling i was at apartment Sept 06 ,and Cardiff was brilliant got lots of jobs done for me during my stay, these were jobs that we were told had been completed  the builders had just lied to us.

MSG; To Interlaken + Builder(who ever you are and MLH take notice i know you read this site.

Please MR BUILDER  AND MLH REINSTATE CARDIFF with authority to do work on clients apartments otherwise the situation is going to escalate and you will end up with apartments that no one will touch with a barge pole and many of us including myself will start looking at our legal rights at getting money back or compensation .

If it's bad publicity you want. try this website.

http://www.footballvillages.com/home.htm

A site which seems exactly the same as Casares Del Sol suites but marketed through Arsenal football club and Jeff Stirling at Sky Sports.

I am sure they would be interested in Interlakens quality build.

Do you have The CEOs address. I might as well right or email.

Did you have it translated or sent by a lawyer?

I suggest you write to your local trading standards office and the DTI in London as MLH have breached British Law.

Interlaken have ring fenced themselves with subsidiaries ie Ocean View, MLH etc so Spanish law etc becomes difficult but there is some trading standards stuff which is enforceable.  Have you contacted RDhoot as per this website.

Christo

Please don't encourage bad press reports at this stage as some time in the future I am hoping to sell my apartment in order to make a profit.

I can only confirm the worst...we are all being taken for a ride...it looks as if they have ran out of cash...the poor finish and the bad landscaping.......renting will be very hard...I would not return if I rented there...I am taking legal action in Spain and seeking redress through Trading Standards!

 Hi everyone,

Things can only get worse!!! My wife has just returned from a 5 day visit weather was hot, hot, hot, but guess what? the main pool at blocks 3,4,5,6,7and 8 was locked  and the sunbeds chained to the walls.

Apparently Interlacken and AMMEX had a meeting and there is no more money this year to employ "tired" pool attendants, and because of the size and apparently european law, they made the decision to close it. Anyone entering the pool area is breaking the law.

However there was one pool open  behind the general office, apparently it is classed as a small pool and doesnt require an attendant!! It had  only 4 sunbeds and came with dead lizards, slaters and other furry friends swimming along  your side when in for a dip, curtesy of MLH!!!

However, she did note that Cardiff is still on site and seemed to be continuing with his work.

Frankly this excuse does not hold water if you will excuse the pun. As far as I am aware this law only applies during the months of July and August. Don't ask me why, European bureauceacy is a study in itself. In addition I have been staying in other developments this year with very much bigger pools than we have in our development. No sign of lifeguards and pools were certainly open for use!!!. I have e-mailed MLH to ask for confirmation and a reason why. I am fast reaching the end of my patience and will also take legal action if this is confirmed. This must be the most high handed arrogant company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Who are these people to remove one of the most essential facilities without any statement as to why. This is OUR development. We have paid for these facilities and it was part of the purchase that a temporary management group would be installed until the owners had an opportunity to form their own grouping. This temporary group should be maintaining essential facilities (and in my opinion a pool is essential during hot weather) not taking fundamental decisions affecting use and enjoyment of facilities without any regard for the most important people the owners.

The other comments re the tropical gardens are also well made. I looked at the majestic site photographs last night. Have a look yourself. What a difference! and remember they have had more delays and problems than we have but can still produce a much better product. Let's not let them (MLH) away with comments on the difference in price. The relative number of properties on our development and the cost of landscaping would mean that having similar quality of landscaping would not have had a significant impact on the overall cost of this development.

We certainly don't want to encourage bad press reports but we need to threaten Interlaken and MLH which is Ocean View.

Does anyone know where we stand and the current state of play with the action group?
